If you skill point confidence at this stage of the game you are making a mistake. Train up your vision and jumping first. If you are that concerned about your catching, raise your catching to 60. At best confidence is only worth 1/6 of the catching formula, at worst it is 1/8. Stick with catching which is weighted at least 2/5 if not even more.

We did it because we KNEW we would be out leveled, since GLB would not be able to relegate us for this season.

If your were a WR on one of the teams that played against us, there would probably be no need to jack up confidence since you would probably out level our WRs by 5 levels in SEA Pro.

Just for calculations sake:
A stat at 34+ can get 0.21 points per night training. (5 nights)
A stat at 30+ can get 0.25 points per night training. (4 nights)
A stat at 22+ can get 0.33 points per night training. (3 nights)
A stat at 19+ can get 0.37 points per night training. (3 nights)
A stat at 15+ can get 0.43 points per night training. (2.5 nights)

I had many of the guys do it at this time last year when we were already out of the playoffs and preseason of this season.

Level 47 WR - this season 113 catches, 0 (ZERO!) drops, 12.2 ypc -last season 89 catches, 12 drops, 20.5 ypc

The biggest change has been the veteran abilities: 13 Sure Hands, 11 Soft Hands, 4 Clutch. Other change was about ½ the yards per catch average, maybe the shorter passes are more catchable?

Strength: 33.4
Speed: 89.41
Agility: 55.72
Jumping: 52.57
Catching: 54.1
Stamina: 50.59
Carrying: 50.26
Vision: 51.83
Confidence: 51.46

I believe drops decreased everywhere this season, regardless, I had a big problem with drops last season with both my WR's. I read str should help, I've increased both str's and had an enormous decrease in drops.

I also softcapped my strength this season after averaging 14 drops per year (against about 80+ catches per year) over the past 4 seasons and have had only 2 drops this season with 77 catches.

EDIT: also have 15 in clutch, but I'm not sure what that boosts.

Perhaps we are looking at the wrong thing here. Maybe we should also be looking at targets and PDs considering drops have seemed to lessen for everyone across the board with this season's sim.

You guys that keep comparing season 6 with season 7 HAVE to realize that this season has been the "season of no drops." All other previous seasons yielded more drops, but this year something in the sim just doesn't give them out very often. PDs may be up, but drops are definitely down, I'd say by about 50%.

Go look at a bunch of the season 1 and 2 guys. They have high enough levels that the points they might have earned from this season to last couldn't have helped a ton, yet 9 out of 10 have fewer drops...some dramatically fewer.

FWIW, I think drops are kind of like fumbles. It's always been kind of random, but with low confidence, if you had one drop, you were likely to have more.

I had a WR drop 10 this season who dropped only 4 last season so I don't think the "season of no drops" reasoning is accurate. He also set career highs for catches, yards. and TD's, His yards per catch went from 11.6 to 19.1 so I think that the longer pass patterns beget more drops!

Was we targeted more this year than last? That could be why you had more drops.

IMO confidence isn't in the formula

however, confidence affects morale which affects all your other attributes

Of course he was - I was trying to point out that the drops, IMO, probably come from the longer pass plays. If you refer to my earlier post about the level 47 who also had career high catches this season but no drops, his ypc went down. Shorter routes, fewer drops.

probly because the faster WRs are more open when the ball comes so have an easier catch. Just my guess though.

Anybody have any data from season 8 to change my opinion on Confidence and or Carry effecting drops?
