I think both Shelby and Biggerblue are fight'n fools. Perhaps they like each other.

lol, this guy is so full of himself it's ridiculous.
He talks about how he's done things smart this and that blah blah blah... and yet the only thing he's done since this thread was made, was pile up 14 sacks between two teams that were absolutely blown out. The very next game... absolutely nothing again, just like the rest of the season. You play the schedule you're given. That's fine. Just saying...
The reality is, you've been shut out completely in 7 games so far this season (8 if you count scrimmages). Held to 1 or fewer sacks in 10 games (12 if you count scrimmages), and yet you're telling everyone about how wise and sage-like you are in your player's development, and how dumb and wrong these other people are, as if they are pitiful or something (lol, even last season, half of your sacks came from one blowout).
And I agree with the other guy. I bet if we sat our builds side by side, yours would be no-where on the level as some of these people here. And I'm not just talking about having insanely more speed/agility.

If this reply has shown one thing it's that people can't read, or are unwilling to read carefully.
I have never claim my DE is the best. It's far from the best, and there are many great DEs out there.
My main arguments with the nutties are that DEs can succeed in this game if you build it right.
Once again I need to reformulate and summarize the whole thing because some people just can't read.
1) The nutties claimed Bort is wrong by nerfing the DEs and now DEs are useless.
2) The nutties want the DEs to be successful when they only focus on speed and agility, and focus only on First Step and Tunnel Vision
3) The nutties wants the DEs with the ability to get 4-6 sacks a game on average, and that's against equal or better competition.
4) The nutties cite "facts" that DEs can no longer shed a block.
So my relies are simply these:
1) Bort's nerfing made DE harder to build, but not impossible and definitely not useless
2) I disagree that GLB DE owners have a god-given right to focus on 2-3 attributes and 2-3 SAs and if that doesn't work they whine like a baby.
3) DE should be effective but demanding that DE gets a certain range of production every game is foolish.
4) DE, if built right, CAN shed blocks.
Then I cited my DE as example. Again I will say right now my DE isn't there yet, but I'm experimenting and so far it's good. I am both OC and DC and I review every play on every player. I noticed my DE does shed blocks, granted not on every play but enough plays. Then I noticed against equal or better competition my DE does get to the QB, I get some hurries if not for sacks. So while the numbers at the end isn't there, but during the game my DE made the QB run and throw-away more. This is a far cry from babies that keep yelling: "My DE isn't doing anything!!!"
What really made me look down on these babies is their unwillingness to try new things. Has it ever occur to them when Bort nerf some places he also increase effectiveness to others to compensate and make DE builders build better? Many of them are still in the mindset of season 5 - i.e. all you have to do is pile on speed, agility, First Step, and Tunnel Vision and you should rock, and then cry when they don't.
I don't want to give it all away because I've worked hard to figure some things out, but it's been mentioned here and there that successful DEs now requires an even spread. Someone mentioned a DE is making sacks against everybody and he has 1st cap on Vision, Confidence, Stamina, Tackles, and 2nd cap on strength, and just 3rd caps on speed, agility. But of course a sound advice like that tends to be ignored, but these babies still choose to whine about how they were wronged by Bort's nerfing.
But hey, sure, I'm the "idiot" that thinks we should figure out Bort's algorithm and build our DE accordingly. But let's not do that. Let's be "smart" and "rational" by making post after posts on why Bort has wronged us and why we have a right to demand the good old days like season 5 when all DE builders have to do is pour SPs into speed, agility, First Steps, and Tunnel Vision.
Knock yourselves out.

i think that Bigger Blue is the one who either can't read, or rather has very selective reading comprehension.
1) DEs, by virtue of the fact that offences are racking up 600 yard games routinely are useless.
2) i don't think anyone here has said that ONLY speed/agility + TV+ FS... in fact, some of us went to the trouble of showing that our builds are in fact very well rounded.
3) again, reading comprehension. it was said that 4-6 sacks a game for a team is not unreasonable since that's about double of RL football...whereas other positions get more than 5X wht their RL counterparts get.
4) haven't seen Shedding Blocks with any degree of regularity. neither have you. or then...you could count your massive success against that 25 speed guy...now THERE was some proof LOL

...sorry guys (and gals) no evidence to support it.

Did they give you access to see their build? Exactly.
There are out there and if you are their friends or convince them to open their builds for you then you will see it.
Seriously guys, I will leave you alone to be in fantasy land but you guys do need to look in the mirror and wonder why GLB at large is not taking DE complaints seriously. This also ruins others (like me) with real credible concerns for DE improvements getting the same treatment because of your irrational attitudes.

Wrong wrong wrong.
1) Why do you guys demand DEs to put up 200 sacks based on the argument that QB and HB are wild? Those are separate arguments. Is it fair to DE owners? No. Should Bort get on his next task of nerfing QB and HB? Yes. But they are separate arguments. This might come as a shock but Bort can only fix one position at a time. Now, if Bort is only targeting DEs then yes, we have a problem. But so far I see no indication that's the case.
2) Wrong. I haven't seem a well-rounded build. Getting strength while ignoring stamina is not well-rounded. Getting stamina up while ignoring confidence is not well-rounded. Getting attributes up while ignoring SAs is not well-rounded. Loading up on SAs while ignoring some key attributes like stamina, vision, confidence is not well-rounded. I've seem people focus on a few areas, but none so far from cry-babies have shown any well-round builds. And when wisdom is given they chastise it as "useless" or "not proven" and demand "fixing"
3) Again, horrible logic. So DE should get special treatment because GLB fails to address other issues? So instead of Bort improving the game one position at a time let's just let all the positions run wild and crazy. Real nice logic here.
4) Funny you ignore the link when I shedded a block against a lvl 45 OL. And that's just one link. In all the games I played against equal or better OT I've been able to shed block 1 out of every 3 or 4 times. You can choose to believe what you believe, but just because you refuse to open your eyes doesn't mean the world is dark.
Nice try, but no.

Looks good. Odd choice of Change Direction over, say, First Step though.

First Step is really useful for pass rushing right now (you know, since breaking blocks doesn't happen so much).

i have AE that is +6 Agility and +3 CD. i know i need more TV, when i invested in SAs i was more of a SB fan. getting Strength to 60 is higher on my priority list than TV.

make your own mistakes. it's how you learn. too bad you have a pretty flawless build going too.
