Here is my take on the race to make the playoffs. This is one man's opinion and will no doubt be wrong, so save yourself the time and effort of bumping this thing after my predicting you wouldn't make it and you do.

Six teams, four spots.

Elvis, 8-4. Wins: Rage, Termites. Losses: GB, DDL. Finish 10-6
I have Elvis pencilled in with one win and one loss as almost certain, the other two games are close. I think 9 wins gets in anyway, so I have them as nearly a lock to make it.

DDL, 7-5. Wins: Gamblers, Termites, Elvis. Losses: Bullets. Finish 10-6
DDL pretty well determines their own fate, with two games against teams they are fighting with for spots and one cupcake game.

Coyotes, 7-5. Wins: Philly, Sin, Rage. Losses: Shockers. Finish 10-6
Two for sure wins. Coyotes are another team that look like a lock since 9 wins looks like you get in. If things swing a different way, then their game against the Rage could be the determining factor for them.

Rage, 6-6. Wins: Philly, Pirates. Losses: Elvis, Coyotes. Finish 8-8
The Rage are the other team that largely control their own fate. They have a cupcake game, then play their 3 other games against one of the 5 teams they are fighting. Beating any of them looks like it gives them a great shot at making it, beating two of the three would put them in.

Pirates, 7-5. Wins: Sin. Losses: Rage, Shockers, GB. Finish: 8-8.
For the Pirates their playoff hopes come down to that Rage game. Their other three games look strongly like one win and two losses, leaving them at 8-7 plus the Rage game. If they win, they should be in. If they lose, they would end up tied with the Rage (under the guesses I have laid out here) and would lose the tiebreaker.

Gamblers, 6-6. Wins: Philly, Losses: DDL, Bullets, ***O***, Finish: 7-9. Gamblers have a tough road ahead with two top teams still to go, and they only play one of the teams they are chasing. Turn one of their losses into wins, and they get into a three way tie with the Pirates and Rage. If the Rage beat the Pirates, they win that three way tie. If the Rage lose to the Pirates...well, then it won't be a three way tie because the Pirates would be 9-7. I don't see any of the other teams dropping to 8-8, so the Gamblers would need to win two of DDL, Bullets, ***O*** so they could move to 9-7.

But you didn't even predict the 4 teams in this except for the locks so how could you be wrong?

I posted my predicted finish for each team. I have the Pirates and Gamblers missing, while the Rage squeak in.

Based on what I put above, predicted order is:
5 - DDL
6 - Elvis
7 - Coyotes
8 - Rage
9 - Pirates
10 - Gamblers

I pick GB and Cincy to win out. Obviously I will predict my own team to win against the Bullets

That would lead to these first round matchups.
GB v Rage
***O*** v Coyotes
Shockers v Elvis
Bullets v DDL

Can't disagree much with this at all, Duff. Hope you're right about us winning out. We could use the $$$$$ and almost never do well in 3 way ties.

The way ties are decided is foolish. IMO, the first tie breaker should be head to head. If that splits, toss out the out of conf game and look at record in the conf (teams that get tough our of conf games get screwed), after that, I'd go point differential between the 3 teams that are tied. Even points allowed over the season would be better than points scored, IMO. Points scored means next to nothing too often.

Fair write-up.

And yes, it will come down to the rage game for us and yes, we will probably choke.

It definitely makes seeding interesting, since the Rage can move higher up, particularly with another win over the Coyotes.

The Pirates are still on the outside unless they can beat the Rage. If they do, and the Rage beat the Coyotes, we could end up with four 9-7 teams (Elvis being the other one) and only three spots.

I don't want to play any of these teams in round 1, but such is life when you are in a solid league.

Upset? I was hoping we'd get out of the game with a win. You guys did a good job of game planning!

None of the teams fighting for spots with each other are playing each other today. But a couple of upsets could shake things up.

Reckon we would have been that "cupcake game" the Rage had.

Most 3-10 teams can safely be called a cupcake game. Not necessarily because you are a bad team, but in the context of games against the rest of the league that has slightly better teams.

Nice win today though!
