these both from the games today in the playoffs.

Exactly how much more vision does he need? when he is already reading the plays way before the ball is even thrown. This play is just amazing.

More vision isn't going to help you much on the plays you're already succeeding at. It may help you on the plays you fail at, though.

Damn. Brief and poignant.

Vision, imo is more importaint for the FS than the SS, especially when the SS is most commonly used to combat the run or cover the TE/backs/flats/drags. I like high vision on both my FSs and wouldn't change how I built them at all. It makes a difference in the zone coverage in how quickly they react to a developing play especially when there are multiple targets in their zone.

Here you see the FS making the break on the play before the ball even leaves the QBs hands, with multiple receivers in his assigned zone.

My FS is only level 23 so my opinion on this matter is really moot, but from what I have read I agree with Juan.

Both speed and vision are the means to the ends. I think what UD is doing is mistaking his speed and coverage assignments for great vision.. but in the end it doesn't really matter. I don't know how fast he is, but he looks fast as hell. I used to have 86 speed and 50 vision on my FS and he did alright, but last season I changed him to focus equally on speed AND vision and as slow as he is he still makes play.

He's not nearly as fast as UD's guy, but the earlier reaction to plays while in a cover 2, not a man, not a run blitz, are apparent.

The last one is admittedly sketchy, but he did break than back off.. because he "SAW" it was going errant.

what do you think about this one?

Cover two, breaks on the pitch, and TFL. 49 vision.

Looks like he was a little slow to react, physically, on that last one I agree w/the general consensus that all three are clearly vital for a SS. As long as you're planning on 3rd capping all of them you'll be in good shape this seems like a silly, semantic debate.

New update to sim

- m2m coverage update to reduce swarm effect. To leave your man in m2m coverage when the ball is thrown requires passing a vision check. This check was really easy before, which made it very common to see the M2M swarm to the ball. Vision check requirement increased.

Will probably make vision a bit more important to getting to the ball quickly. Not sure exactly since the updates don't go live for another 2 days. Will be interesting at least to see how some of the new modifications work themselves in. Just figured i'd post it since it's relevant
