ive been thinking about turning one of my slow build CBs into a blitzing CB... as far as i know, not many people have tried it and it is a fairly experimental thing. from what im thinking... speed and agility are still vital as you need to get to the qb fast enough. what other attributes should i go for? strength? jumping (larger tackle radius... therefore dont need to be as close to the QB to nab a sack)? tackling? how high should vis be? which SAs? first step, and blitz?? what do you guys all think...

high speed....closing speed SA...60agility at least.

More tackling will give you a bigger tackle radius which is just as good as more speed. Jumping can help do the same.

But speed it is. Strength is not totally necessary but can help. Even blocking is worth training a bit.

i'm not sure that closing speed activates during a pass rush.

the most important things for a blitzing CB are speed and acceleration. i'd try to max first step and blitz eventually. you want to be at top speed asap after the snap (first step) and be going as fast as possible (blitz, with its + to speed/agility). I think you may be able to get away with a larger gap between speed and agility if you get a lot of first step. that might let you get a HUGE speed attribute without having to worry about spending a ton of points to keep agility on pace with it.

Closing Speed doesn't active during a pass rush b/c the sim doesn't view the QB as a "ball carrier"

that sucks! i dont see why not.

but in that case, all speed/agi and decent vision.

Why not use the...Blitz SA? Does it not work or something? I've never put anything into it myself since speed, agility, and vision are always naturally high for a CB build, not including VAs.

I guess it doesnt consider the QB as a ball carrier...which is another one of Borts amazing accomplishments.

Blitz states it gives bonuses when the player is blitzing.

Blitzing means rushing the QB when he is trying to pass according to the wiki.

Closing speed doesn't consider the QB the ballcarrier, but I see no reason why Blitz shouldn't be viable.

Yea blitz SA is fine, I was thinking ClosingSpeed still...Long day.

Blitz is obviously the way to go for a blitzing CB haha

get a tunnel vision AE too

i'd say... agility, speed, strength, jumping, vision, tackling in that order... SA's obv Blitz, change direction, first step, maybe even a few in swat ball

agility and speed are obvious
strength next because if you get matched up with a receiving TE or elusive RB you could beat him with power... aids in tackling
jumping not only helps with diving tackles but pass deflections at the LOS
vision may not be vital so i put that lower... just have to know where the QB is lol
tackling is obvious but doesnt have a secondary function like str or jumping
