Level 35

(Stats shown are without equipment: Equipment is split b/t strength and agility evenly.)
72 strength
74 agility
64 tackling
49 vision and speed

He has 11 FFs this season, and I am looking for more. Is Big hit worth investing in?

7 of your fumbles were in a 255-0 game, and in that game there were DEs playing RB, and they fumbled 9 times. You have 4 "real" FFs, and 2 more of those were in wins by over 100. So no, investing in Big Hit will not help too much, since you get your fumbles now when they aren't needed and it'd take a huge investment in Big Hit to get the effect you want. Points better spent elsewhere.

Well, I know that my inflated FF number was against low level competition, and that's why I want more. 20 would be nice against mediocre to poor teams. Although, our team is getting better, and 5 FFs in a higher league would be a very nice accomplishment once we move up. Does anyone have any idea what causes FFs? or, have any of you know of SAs or VAs that help with knocking the ball loose? Any experience with Power Tackler VA? I think a DT with the ability to FFs would force alterations in team's game planning. If any of you guys have had any FF build success, let me know.

That's the thing...nobody has FF build success. You can always find situations like yours, where a guy has some nice games against crap players, but 5 FFs in a high league is basically nonexistant. Power tackler VA, % FF AE, Big Hit, Monster Hit, Power setting...all of it just leads to a change of MAYBE an extra FF per season. And that 1 FF, gets recovered by the offense. It would be nice if you could get them, but in most cases, you'll just be investing a whole lot of points into something that won't work out. While the extra power is useful, you'll see much more return on agility, speed, shed block, vision, confidence, and stamina.

If somebody does have the secret to consistently forcing fumbles against equal talent, they aren't talking.

What do you mean by extra power?? One thing that I have noticed monster hit/big hit to make a difference in is actually stopping the RB in his tracks. Have you noticed this as well? This is for Pottsman. Of course anyone else can reply.

the secret used to be to go up against RBs with low carrying...but now you don't even need it softcapped to avoid fumbles.

I just said that as a way of saying "monster hit isn't totally useless". It does tend to be a good hit that doesn't let the RB advance, and more tackling and more strength also seem to imply that. But I don't think I've seen a forced fumble from one yet, and I play on a team with a 7 monster hit 7 big hit SS, where the skills activate regularly.

Does the big hit/monster hit SS stop the RB in his tracks, or does the RB carry on for a few yards? What are the SS's tackling and strength?

I don't want to give out any more details about his build because he isn't mine, but there are points in strength and tackling, to a degree that most players would find sufficient, but not insane (somewhere between 30 and 80 in both), but yes, when the skills activate, RB stops cold. I looked through a few replays, haven't found one where the RB falls forward.

What about broken tackles? These hits cause a morale drop, so if he stops breaking tackles after getting lit up, then big hit/monster hit could save a couple first downs a game. Seems worth it if that's the case.

I wasn't saying Monster hit is a waste. I'm saying that make drastic build changes with the goal of forcing fumbles is a waste. The hits do help, and the team I'm refering to is fairly successful. But fumbles just don't come.
