Has anyone boosted Blocking for their WRs and seen an effect in the run game?

My player will be playing in a run-first team until he'll retire.
So I'm focusing my training back on blocking and strength.
Currently : 22.55 blocking 37 strength and as DBs has low strength it is efficient.
Examples :

Look how many pancakes he got for a WR : http://goallineblitz.com/game/full_player_stats.pl?player_id=50001&playoffs=0

A lot of people have tried it. I'm not a fan of it. You obviously rack up the pancakes, but your WR is more valuable being a threat in the passing game, even on a run-heavy team. Its not very affective when you don't have to worry about the guys that are supposed to be spreading defense down the field. If I had a running team, I'd rather have two speed WR's, but that is just me.

the big challenge is that the playbook doesn't give you the ability to choose which WR is in which position for each play with the same control you have over RBs & TEs. So you can't be sure the best blocking WR is on the right side for the direction you're running.
i never put any points into blocking but I did train it up to mid-30s, higher than most WRs. Last season my team rarely ran to the outside, so his blocking ability was not used much, but in previous seasons I did see some good plays where he was able to lock up a CB or S on the outside and spring the runner for a good gain, when he happened to be the one in place on the play.

The one stickied thread in the WR forum is exclusively about blocking and WRs. The basic point is that you shouldn't do it I think.
