Meaty,

There are no good DEs this season. None. They are all nerfed into oblivion. The only purpose of a DE now is to make sure the QB doesn't have 30 seconds in the pocket...otherwise they serve no useful purpose at the higher levels. Until Bort unnerf's DEs, this is how it will be. Since no one knows which set of attributes Bort's unnerf will make be the important ones, no one has anything better than a guess as to how a DE should be built.

My suggestion is to either 1) take your best guess at what the future top DE will look like and build in that direction or 2) choose another position that a DE can be highly effective at (3-4 OLBer for example) and build him to be the perfect one...then if your guess is wrong you still have a highly effective player and it is at the same time possible that Bort's unnerf will make that build be the perfect DE build.

By the way, if your interested I can PM you my DE's build...he is nearly as well built as Dee but in a different style...and like Dee no stats anymore...

True, i would just start filling him out.
30 is pretty late to have so little secondary attributes and sa's.
You'll need a lot more stamina, vision and confidence to do anything is this league as a full time DE player.

I already said he doesn't play anything other then ST, and that with the nerf to de's and the level of the competition of the league he is in that any direction seems like a waste a this point. Signing him to a lower league is probably best, but right now he fits a need for ST depth, and gets max exp.

I am trying to shoot for the big picture. I was also looking for some advice on where to go next. Most of my players are slow built. Some taken to more extreme measure then others. Any knowledge gained from building players to extreems is worth it to me.
