I've been having difficulty getting the ball to my first and second WRs. MY tight ends, Slot WRs, halfbacks, and even fullbacks get significant action, but I don't think I'm calling the right kind of plays to get the ball to #1 and #2. What are your favorite plays to get the starting WRs involved?

Your WR1/2 wr's are covered by the other teams best CB's usually.
If you want to stick it in there anyway, have your QB set favorites, and choose WR 1/2 hot routes.
QB dump = Never.
QB = Aggressive.

I don't want to force anything, but I would like to help out via playcalling as best I can. We have some very good players who are really getting the shaft because they're high on the depth chart.

Look for when the other team runs cover 2 - run short, underneath routes here.
Look for when they seem to like cover 0 - go deep on these plays.

So put one in the WR3 and get a good mismatch.

Some people also put their best wr at #5 to do this as well, or even their fastest WR as TE1/2 and send him on a fly.

I do this... but more often than not the slot WR or TE get targeted. Are there plays that you've SEEN favor the starters?

This falls into the 'Force it in there' category.
What I'm getting at is are there successful pass plays that you've found favor the 1st and 2nd WRs. Plays that get them open with regular consistency. I know I could force the ball to them through any number of ways. What I want to do is find a way to do this naturally.

One of my favorites is strong i, medium to the wr. Give it a shot.

I also like normal i deep to wr.

I wouldn't recommend running these on 3rd and long but they make good plays for 1st/2nd down.

You can run that first play every single down and probably score a TD every possession.

It seems that it's really good against the cover 2, cuz the pass will land right in a pocket between the safeties.

No, it's really good because those crossing routes are the types that are totally borted from the defensive perspective. The CB always just plays follow the leader no matter the build. Run a speed WR at WR1 and he's got a TD against the cover 2, especially if you keep the TE in to block, if the CB isn't w/in range to make the tackle.
