I have my punters punting at 95 right now and have the ability to add 6 more points to anything via equipment. I kinda understand diminishing returns for numbers over 100. Should I put points elsewhere or is getting punting to 100 a good thing?

100 is the golden number. Any points spent on 100+ are wasted because they would get significantly more value if used to get confidence to 100, and then vis/str up to a cap.

Bort said there's diminishing returns on SAs above 10, but he's never said anything about attributes over 100.

It's just a guess by some that there's diminishing returns over 100.

Yea he's actually said that there is no per-point penalty to attributes over 100. You can never have too much punting. 120 is better than 100 (20 pts better, not 15 or 10). It's up to the player whether or not they decide (or have the balls to) take an attribute very high before jewing out.

This. Punting never has diminishing returns. No stat has diminishing returns, only SAs. Bort's confirmed this.

I read the quote too, so I'll confirm the Bort confirmation!

Anyway, there does become a point where you worry about the "supporting minor attribute" rule Bort implemented a few seasons ago. Recall 100 spd 40 agility only plays like 40 agility 60 speed (60 is a number I made up - all bort said is that if the minor isn't high enough, the major wont perform at full value). Confidence at 70 and punting at 120 might not let the 120 even read as 120. you might be better served with 75 / 115.

I need to get my confidence up, then. My punting is over 100 (won't say where exactly) but my average is the lowest it's been since I reached double-digit levels.

Or maybe my custom EQ is finally becoming a hindrance.

You wouldn't even know what stat he tied it to. Granted, confidence is a major attribute but we don't know that necessarily means they are tied. It might be tied to Agility

What would strength be tied to? My first thought would have been Blocking but that would hose DT's, DE's, power backs even probably.

I'm sure ties were position based and/or minor/major attribute based. He specifically stated blocking and strength were tied, however obviously for o-line not d-line. There was only a mention of spd/agi, blk/str I think.

Way to class up the P forums Jack.

There is no such thing as too much punting or too much kicking. Ditto for confidence.

Now, there is such a thing as the right balance between the two...but there is definitely no point at which you can ever have "too much".

Eh, no biggie in my book. I should note that he did not make proper use of the derogatory, jewing.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jewing

As homework, Jack, I expect a 1,000 word essay on the Six Day war. This is due by the end of next week.

Used it to mean "to bail out of or give up on", and I can actually give my own Jewish stamp of approval that that's one valid definition of "jewing out". The urbandictionary page is probably written by goys.
