Warrior General Games

Howdy all,

So I'm almost done messing with the formula, after adding in the strength of schedule component since the last game. I have this set up so that it's more important early in the season, but it's importance decreases as the season progresses. Why? Because early on, the stats of some teams will benefit from playing weaker teams, and since this is a stat based ranking system, their rank will then be inflated. But as the season goes on, everyone plays most everyone else, so the stats become more even, and therefore the str of schedule is less necessary.

So, due tot he addition of the str of schedule component, the rankings from this week are not directly comparable with last weeks, but I'm still publishing those anyway, just so you can see where your team has moved. But don't give me a lot of crap because your team dropped after you won, it's likely that your team dropped even before today's games as a result of the new formula, but I didn't publish that info.

Although the fact that Al Davis consistently runs them into the ground is fun to watch from the outside.

I'm just kidding about the power rankings part, cause that's just how the numbers work out. And I've openly admitted that this thing isn't perfect, and probably won't ever be. But it's fun, and it sparks some conversation.

The power rankings are fun. I am very interested to see how the league actually plays out compared to your power rankings. Maybe when the season is over you will have more info on which stats translate into winning teams. I am biased of course, but I think the Raiders are going places.

Raiders still have their biggest tests of the season ahead of them. And all in a very short time period. Anxious to see how it plays out for you guys.

Nice jump for the Mountaineers. I guess winning does make a difference.
