Does anyone know what penalty there would be if someone tried to take a punter and boost up their kicking to be used as the team's kicker as well? I know the SA's probably won't carry over as they specifically list the position in them, but any thoughts on how effective this could work?

Don't do it. You'll just end up bad at both positions.

I have just started this experiment today. Many of the attributes besides kicking/punting are common in developing both. In terms of SAs, Kickers have Calm Nerves, Big Boot and Automatic and Punters have Calm Nerves, Hang Time and Big Boot. You can get AE that has Automatic, so you can cover all 4 SAs.

And considering how hard it is for Ps and Ks to get teams, there's really no good reason to do this. Even a mediocre/shitty punter would be better than a Kicker that went hybrid Kicker-punter. And as a bonus your kicker wouldn't suck,
