Most important thing is your gameplan. Most Lb sacks come from that rather than stats.

Agree.

This. But also, you'll want to develop your player as either a MLB or a ROLB (or ILB, ROLB in a 3-4 defense). Most times the LOLB is kept in coverage to take on the TE instead of blitzing. You'll also want to focus on the pass rush SAs with probably a focus on getting Shed Block fairly high. If you start getting lots of sacks start putting points into Big Sack, but not before otherwise you'll be wasting points.

MLB's aren't blitzed as much anymore. The shoddy coverage on HB's has ensured this. Easier to do Cover 1 and blitz the LOLB so you don't get burned 20 times a game by the HB with 100 speed being wide open down the field

it's a lot of gameplanning...but the biggest thing to stress is balance between speed and agility...the more out of the balance the two are the less effective they both are IMO

Gameplanning, and the build to suit, I've been moved all over the LB spots, and this year I just pumped up my Speed and Shed block, and got moved to ROLB, and so far I have 5x more sacks than any season I've had so far. Replays of the sacks are fun to watch, like a missle and so far yes I'm about at 90/60, with vet it's abotu 100/63,with 6 shed, though once I put another point in shed block I'll likely use my boosts next season to push Agility up a bit. None of it would matter though if I wasn't at ROLB and the AI wasn;t blitzing me.

I don't think people realize that LBs need to be able to get to the QB. Yes, having about 70 agility is necessary to get around blocks at high levels for a LB, but high speed is going to help you a lot more than high agility.

straight line speed is useless without the appropriate agility...the faster you are traveling, the faster you need to be able to turn because no LB is going to get a direct shot at a QB...90 speed and 60 agility is less effective than 80 speed and 80 agility...

raw speed will get you sacks against gutted and CPU teams...real sacks against real teams require agility
