If that play happens at 2:01, we run goal line and win the game. Instead, it happens at 1:56 and Bort's "canned 2 minute offense" crap set kicked in for the fourth quarter. It's my fault for not checking that, but throw in the two fluky INTs for TDs (one that was over 100 yards) and fumbled kick after the safety and you scratch your head. It's tough to lose a game where you outgain your opponent 437 to 216, but the "laws of Bort" were against us today.

Still, great game from you guys and it was a fun game to watch (until the 4th and < 1 ).

My comment against Bort was because the stock gameplan had his silly "2 minute offense" set in the 4th quarter. It basically overtook either a FG or goal line run and made it a Deep pass from the 0.5 yardline on 4th and goal. It's my fault for not seeing it in the 4th quarter offense AI. But, hey, we haven't been down much in the final 2 minutes of the 4th quarter the past two seasons so I didn't have much of a chance to observe it

Anyrate, Duluth played a great game. I just wouldn't expect too many wins in the future when you are outgained 400 to 200

I had never seen 2 INTs returned for 140 yards and 2 TDs in a close game, so that's why I said it was fluky. Plus, there's this odd sequence:

A 21.5 yard completion take 4 seconds. Yet, with 2 TOs left, a 9.5 yards gain take 26 seconds. Was Wade Phillips our head coach that game?

There was a lot of crazy things that happened in that game. We have the odd "dial up the 40 yard pass from the 1-foot line" on 4th and goal. Then, the game should have been over but we force a safety 2 plays later and get the kickoff with 1:06 left (needing a FG to win) and our KR (who has 2 fumbles in 25 games) fumbles. There are some games you just aren't meant to win and that was one of them. Maybe it's the punishment for winning the conference title last season against them

meh...you win some, you lose some...games between us have always been crazy...wouldnt expect anything less...i still have some things to clean up on our side of the ball as well...

You're right. I view games between us just like last season - a basic coin flip. I was just explaining why I thought some odd things happened. Upon reflection, really only the end of half logic is anything I would considered "wrong" with the game. The rest is just coming up on the a** end of some dice rolls
