There doesn't seem to be any monster VAs for LBs, but some pretty good ones that are situation dependent. I was thinking of going w/ Sure Tackler and playing on Balanced (are people using the Tenacious VA?) or just dropping it into Quick. I see the benefit of Red Zone/Clutch, but does it take too long to get there? It's a nice combo for those who were already Lvl 40 when VAs rolled out and you could get them to 10 right away. I'm not really concerned with the +FF VAs.

Lvl 25 LB

Strength-46.69
Speed-49.82 (66.82 w/ EQ)
Agility-52.69
Vision-49.69
Tackling-52.69

CE in Hard Hitter tree
+2 Quick Cut SA

Thoughts on where to start popping VAs?

For a 25, I'd recommend one of two things. 1-attribute bonuses. Pick Quick, Track Star, or the tackling one (not the one that rerolls), and pump it up, either on the skill you want highest or on the skill you want a lot in but don't use equipment on.
2-hold onto them. Give it time, see what seems to be working for other people, invest a bunch of them at once.

Would agree with this IF you plan on getting either your Speed or Agility well into the natural 60s soon. Attribute bonuses won't do much good if there isn't much to bonus there.

Since pumping 'Power Tackler' to 15 and playing on 'Balanced Tackling', I've already caused a fumble this year. I also have 4 in Monster Hit that I continue to pump up. So if anyone's interested, I could keep everyone updated on how many fumbles I force this year.

I think my LB is a pretty balanced build and I went with streaky, then RZF because I liked the idea of getting a 5% bump across the board. With a balanced build it seems like a good fit, but for anyone who is fixated on only a couple of stats while largely ignoring others I would not think it a good fit.

I had 22 points to spend though so I could max streaky out to 15 right away and didn't have to wait. So far after 2 games my guy has been doing real well this season so I assume he is on a 2 game 'good streak' but it's hard to tell. I also switched positions this season from LOLB to ROLB so it could be I just had a better ROLB build from the get go.

If I had to start from scratch I am not sure if I would have gone with streaky just because 50/50 odds aren't nearly as good a 78/22 and I'm not sure how bad the 'bad streak' games could be yet. That is also why I backed it up with RZF. That way even on my 'bad' games I have a chance of being 'normal' in the red zone (the -5% from streak and the +5% from RZF would cancel each other out). Plus if both hit then I'll have a +10% bonus across the board for some red zone plays. I think I am only going to take RZF up to 10 though and stop. A 50/50 shot for a situational bonus isn't too bad since their is no bad side effects like streaky. I plan on putting new points into quick and track star after RZF is at 10.

My overall advice woud be just to wait a while and pile up the points. That way you can wait and get some feedback on which ones seem to work the best once those of us who had a bunch of points to spend see some results over the course of a season. Then you can pick one and put them all in it. Since most of them get better with the more points you have in them anyway, you won't see much effect from having just 2 or 3 points in one now and then slowly adding to it. The effect will increase slowly as well and you may not even notice the change. By waiting you should see a more noticable effect from whatever you choose to go with. If you make the playoffs, before the first game would be a good time to suddenly get a new skill set.
