I am the left CB on this play....can you explain this action...? Why does the CB just keep dropping...?

maybe the QB pump faked and and you tried jumping it

I ended up way behind the WR and running away from him towards the back of the endzone

possible that the WR just has high jumping? maybe you went back to catch it and he caught at highest point.

yeah i think you thought the ball was going there and the WR just jumped up and caught it
