When you fill out the custom slots does that override your regular depth chart?

What I was trying to do was throw a couple O-lineman into the TE slot for late leads and/or short yardage run plays like goalline.

I do have auto adjust turned on.

I ended up with an OT in the TE slot on a pass play on second down, and he shouldn't have been on the field in that slot if it wasn't a running play.

the custom slots dont override the regular. in the adv ai you can call that player by using TE1 or TE2

That's what I thought, and there's nothing wrong with my setup yet I had that strange play where the QB was throwing to the OT.

There's no input in my AI that would have TE1 on the field in a passing situation.

Can auto-adjust override advanced AI inputs/outputs? If no, I would check you advanced AI settings and depth chart settings. If you are 100% sure, then it might be a bug or something.

That OT was on the depth chart in 2 places: backup RT and backup TE1. I haven't adjusted the tactics at all since that sim so they are still the same.

Here are the situations were TE1 is specified to be on the field.
Within the 5 yard line - play type = goalline.
Late Lead - play type = inside run 100% chance.
Backed into own goal - play type = inside run.

The situation was the second quarter, the score was 42-0.

I think it may have been the Late Lead kicking in, but it wasn't late. Can QBs audible?
