Well, here's how Goal Line Back reads:

Goal Line Back - This player has a nose for the endzone. Each level of Goal Line Back gives a +1% to strength, agility, and carrying on Goal Line plays inside the 5 yard line, when playing HB or FB.

TO me that means it will help with blocking as well, as there's no mention of needing to have the ball.

If your team/player is failing to convert inside 5 yarders for TD's, then the bonus won't help.

Essentially, you could take the carrying, strength or agility as a single skill and get them anywhere on the field, but by taking goal line back you get a bonus for 5% of the field.

Assuming the play is from goal line form...

Yeah, I'm sticking with Quick, Workout warrior and maybe great blocker I think. They're the only sure bets against being nerfed anyway.

Bruiser made wonders for my FB:

He never was much of a threat against decent teams...

I'll be testing out the wonders or Bruiser and Workout Warrior.

10 in bruiser, 8 power thru, 97 strength and +13% break tackle AE = 11 broken tackles on 10 rushes for a 4.6 YPC, against a pretty good team (they ranked #4 last season in our conference, we were #5).

Tenacious

i don't see too many threads discussing tenacious. has anyone found it to be an effective VA (for rushing fb's)? of course, i would first go with bruiser, but with extra pts in VA, i am debating on tenacious, short yardage monster, or yac attack. since i rarely get caught for losses and i do not catch a lot of passes, sym and yac do not seem too beneficial for me. tenacious sounds like it would be a good complement to bruiser, but has anyone else found it to be effective? or do many defenders NOT use the wrap up setting?

I had 10 in tenacious for my FB and TBH didn't see anything at all from it (I reset it after last season). Although, I must say, that it would be difficult to gauge anyway. For a FB, nowadays, with defenses able to increase their tackling, this is not worth having on a FB. FBs run up the middle where defenders are less likely to be set on wrap-up. Tenacious is probably best used on a WR, where I'm sure rare is the CB that is not set on wrap-up.

thanks for the reply, dimo.

this leads me to believe that yac attack would probably better for a FB than tenacious (for screen passes)?

I like my 7 Power Thru + 15 WOW + 15 Bruiser + 9 % Break tackle ... LOTS!

I finally got my DREAM TD with 10 broken tackles!

I'll take it! I know they are not a great Defense but not gutted one either.
I guess I better enjoys it before the ALMIGHTY NERFING!

BTW, when Tenacious is engaged it can be hilarious to see a player dragged 2-5 yards behind you.
I used to have more last season.

15 bruiser and 15 short yard monster. That would put SUCH a bonus to breaking tackles if someone met you behind the LOS. YOu would never get TFLd.

Or 15 bruiser, 15 tenacious (fight out extra yards). Then you will rush the same as every S8 powerback with the auto dive4yards.
