Heavyweight is really only effective if you have very very high strength already...as it is adding to the knock down chance roll.

The only wildcard that I see for DEs is Heavyweight because nobody is really sure how that ability works compared to the standard AGI/STR/SPD check between your DE and their OL on every play.

heavyweight seems good in theory, but what good is knocking down a defender AFTER you've shed his block? if it was a better % to knock down and shed a block, it would be worth it.

The way I see it, every time you bounce off a guy, that could potentially be a broken block. This lets you bounce off, knock him down, then run through where he was. I think it happens sometimes already, but more for stronger players (I've seen my DT do it a few times), so that bonus is probably best for strong guys.

You are correct. It will only be effective for very high strength players...Bort mentioned as much in the main thread. Quote:

Is this based off strength to begin with Bort?

Bort> Yeah, this is a bonus to whatever ability you had to begin with.

So players already have this possible skill...this is just a bonus to the skill. May be better to just use the 1% gain to strength if that is your main attribute and you will get a boost to this skill plus whatever else strength does.

I went with Clutch. 3rd down is often a passing situation, and I guess it depends on what the bonuses actually are, but I think it could be pretty valuable.

Clutch is very misleading
everyone seems to think when maxed out it gives 50% bonus
IT DOESNT

it give you a 50% chance to get a 5% bonus to all skills
I would rather spend all that points maxing quick and track star

do u guys recommend dropping 15 veteran points in streaky? that would make the ratio 80%-20% for good days vs bad days

It would make it 78-22%.

Personally I would rather have a guaranteed +15% in my main attribute vs a chance at +- 5% gain across the board. At 78-22 on average every 5th game your player is going to be ineffective.

how do u get 78-22? if u put in 15 points and each point gives 2%
(15 x 2=30) it starts at 50-50 so if u add the 30% from the VP u get 80-20.

but either way i'm still unsure if i want streaky or if i should just put them all in quick/track star

bort said it in a thread. cuz the 1st point you spend gives you 50/50. 2nd 52/48.... 15th = 78/22

I went with 10 in quick.

Speed/Agility rule GLB. The others look sparkly and fancy, but I doubt GLB has changed.

do u think it would be better to put 15 Quick and 5 Track Star or 10 Quick and 10 Trackstar?

(decided that i don't like streaky or slow start)

It purely depends which is higher. Ultimately maxing out 15 in your highest skill will yield more "SP gain"

E.G

70 agility
60 Speed

In this case 15 Quick, 5 Track would be better.

70 Agility
70 speed

In this case, you could choose either. way

Ultimately, I think the best would be to put 15 in your higher of the two, and then 5 in the other because it's almost always better to have points in one stat at those high levels.

Where does clutch say it gives a 5 percent bonus to all skills?

It doesn't say that. And I do understand that putting more points into it does not increase the attribute boost, it only increases the likelihood of triggering it.

Red Zone Freak and streaky are the skills that gives the 5% bonus to all attributes...when the req are met or a successful roll.
