I see that looking around cb's main focus is speed/agility no tackling what so ever. could it work to build a receiver with speed/strength as main attributes and keep agility as secondary. catching would be at a middle ground since once you get catching to a certain hieght it doesnt need to be raised much. Has anyone tried this?

just created my receiver,

People have tried similar things, some people swear by their strength WR, think 2 cap for strength. If I were you I would take speed as high as you plan to, take agility as high as you plan to, soft cap catching, THEN take strength up to the 2 or 3rd cap. It is pointless to take strength up high early because you don't get natural level gains for strength like you do for the other 3 attributes. Treat the strength like you would the SAs and work on that when the main attributes are solid.

I'm doing this with my combo HB. I expect better results.

I agree with mob-6...my Lvl 33 WR is a strength build WR and I should have built up spd and agi before building up his strength...he has just recently been able to catch back up with his peers.

I think every team is going to need a Possession/Strength WR eventually as it will soon be harder to get open...the nice thing is that my WR doesn't have to be open to catch the ball, he uses his strength and jumping to come down with those jump balls...

I dont have a WR, so i guess im not an exper...more of a CB kind of guy... but i am looking to make a WR soon, and i can tell you that for sure most CBs (at least ones with proper builds) will often times not have tackling/strength above 35 or so, so a str reciver would be an interesting thing to make. But if you were to do it, i would just go and try doing it with a TE and sticking him at WR and just deal with the OoP penelty. TEs get str with lvl progression, as well as speed and agility, and catching. So yeah, if you really wanted to try to do a str reciver, it think it would be iteresting to see how a strong TE does there. Can see benefits there too with blocking on running plays with run block SA.

I've actually got a WR at level 10 now who I'm doing this experiment with. I did take speed and agility to the first cap first b/c I wanted to take advantage of the cap gains and he can't break a tackle if he can't get open to catch the ball. I'm thinking of splitting equipment in some manner b/w strength, speed, and agility. I just haven't decided which two or how I'm going to break it up.
