It's about quantity versus quality. For example, if your team runs 100% of the time and you're leading the league while only gaining 4 ypc in this league, then you're not an MVP candidate. Just like some guy with 10 rushes for a 50 yard average isn't either. However I can't agree with giving it to Young, that would be like the NFL MVP going to DeAngelo Williams or Chris Johnson (Titans) this year.

Personally my vote would go to Rich Wu, but I OC for him so I have to pick someone else so I'm going with Mark Hannon on offense and Simon Fletcher on defense.

I don't agree with the averages scheme you guys are putting out there for 2 reasons. The more carries a player has, the more valued that player is and also the more endurance he has in order to be in the game so much (not one of these guys who puts 20 into stamina and 80 into speed). You also have to take into account that our team scored a ridiculous amount of punt and kick return tds on the bad teams in the league. This takes away from the stat padding that most teams enjoyed on offense for averages and even touchdowns (probably cost Jayhop the TD lead). I can't take anything away from the other players, but you have to balance out the circumstances. I also like R. Wu at the QB position.

See I understand where you are coming from here and appreciate that you used logic and facts to back up your standpoint. As for stat padding, hoppe had under 1000 yards and 8 TDs against playoff teams, thats over 3300 yards and 54 TDs against the back half of the conference. Considering how low his avg is and the fact that over 75% of his yards were against below avg teams its not that impressive to me.

But one guy decided to vote for BUS the HB that has like no stats at all saying that he did the best this season which i dont get one bit even if i was drunk! Can you please tell me why he would deserve it over Rich Wu and the other Quaterbacks or My guy, Mark Hannon, and the Other HB's that had way better stats than the BUS. Do get me now?

The issue with stats and averages is two fold. More carries, more receptions, etc. does mean that the team leaned on him more but what happens if a team has a quality running back duo as Roswell has? Holly has this as well and the question is, who are you game planning for?

This can take on a whole new meaning especially when those who game plan start voting. There are players who, while they aren't the league leaders, I see what they do with their PT and plan for them especially. This is what quality players do even if they don't have the massive stat padding. They concern other teams.

This is why I picked Fletcher over Smasher. He would concern me more if I had to game plan offensively than Smasher does. Nothing against Smasher but Fletcher, wow, he's really good.

Both stats and averages matter, hell, they are the same thing. My question is this, how much game film of the other players, the ones you dismiss as unworthy, have you watched?

Dude if you look everyone pads stats and there were even some games that i didnt, where we passed alot more! If you think about it our team just dosent have me as the offense we had our QB which got 4th and 5th in his rankings. Which the only other person in the top 5 in both passing is IMUP im Down which did good! ANd Rodger craig who just has a lot of TD's! In fact every game we passed more than ran percentage wise! I also think i am the only HB maybe beside Hannon that doesnt really have a backup. (LOt more carries). On bad teams did think that i would go easy on them? thats not what this game is about!

EDIT: IF i am the only HB i lose alot more energy!!!! which is only at 40!

In order for Hannon not to have as many yards as Hoppe did if he got as many carries, he would have to average 3 yards per carry for 169 carries. In only 1 game though, did he average 3 or less yards per carry. So that reasoning is very weak at best.

Bus is harder to judge, because he didn't spend as much time as the premire back. But he was so important in Roswell's passing attack, that gets him in the MVP discussion.

I go with BoBo "Bus" Young for offense.

I loved Rich Wu, but I think that if he was on any other team not so focused on blowing people away through the air, his stats would still be impressive, but a bit closed back down to earth. But to make up for it...

Chris Boynkins for defense.

Maybe if I had played, and had to gameplan against, QueB Smasher, then I might think differently. But even gameplanning to stop CB, he still managed to keep my QB on his toes with 1 sack and 4 hurries. That was impressive enough for me...

Yeah Rich was definitely helped out by our aerial assault but he had quality numbers to support his high totals. top of the league in completion %, yards per completion and interceptions thrown(only 1.5% of passes thrown led to an INT). Interesting tid-bit, Rich Wu was 5th on the list of pass attempts. So while he was the league leader in yards and TDs it wasnt because we threw more than every other team, 4 teams had more attempts. League leader in attempts had 886, rich had 654.

This is mostly who you like better voting. The point in my favor is if you don't game plan around Smasher he will crush you. Try running on him, something that only shows if you dig is TFL,Tackels For Loss for the dummy's on board here. Smasher 38 Fletcher 31, again the competition might be slightly less than his but his level is extremely better than Smashers. Top it off with an interception. The only point should be that it would be like Smasher being a rookie and Boynkins and Fletcher being 4 or 5 year players, Smasher has mad stats against higher leveled competition while the other 2 have great stats against evenly leveled competition. But again this is about who you like more not who deserves it.
