My DC and I need the best possible solution to shut down the passes to the TE and HB.
Team: http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=6104

Passes to the TE usually result in the SS covering and sometimes the LOLB. We run a 4-3 and have our tactics set to close and semi agg with pass focus and our builds are better. But the TE usually gets a good 3-5yrd cushion between him and the cover man. What do we do to blanket the TE a little bit better? We cover the WRs real well but we are bleeding here.

The HB usually is always open on the flats and no 1 around him within 10 yards. This is also with none or 1 player blitzing. Any suggestions to cover the HB or at least contain on the far right and down the middle?

You have to be man to man. Go to a cover 1 or a cover 0 and the SS and LOLB will cover the TE. The MLB and/or ROLB will cover the HB.

Semi aggressive pass coverage sucks! Go with close/aggressive

at even level players, having equal quality builds, how often do the defensive players get burned?

Why do you say this? I find I get a ton of PDs on semi-aggressive, and a decent number of INTs.

If you blitz the LBers a lot then the HB/FB will be uncovered on pass routes and if you blitz the LOLB a lot the SS will man up against the TE solo, afaik.

It's not like your LOLB is the last line of defense against a TE. Go with close/aggressive and M2M. If your LOLB has a decent build, he'll shut down a TE no problem.
