I was going to try to get him to a point where I can raise him to his first cap before adding to his levels.

Don't you gain a certain amount of points per level? If so, wouldn't it make sense to train up as high as possible, use point to soft cap, then start boosting his levels?

Oh and the build is completely trained, all sp's saved at this point.

yes depending on position, they get like .5 or .33 points to their primaries each time they level. just decide which cap u want to take an attribute to, then as soon as u can cap it.
for example, rite now if u wanted speed to the 2nd cap (60), you'd spend 18 points to get to 48, then you'd have to spend 24 to get it to 60. if u have 42 SP's do it. that way when u level you'll get that .5 natural bonus, it'll be at 3:1. essentially its like u didn't have to spend 1.5 SP's. the sooner u do it the better. if u only wanted to take it to 48 and u have enuf SP's, do it.
