Yes after you told me what the equip is, YES it is worth it for your possession WR. Definately an investment-worthy piece. ( For one because it's at the end of his skill tree-and will save u bucu SP in the long run, and for two- because you're a possession receiver- that's what u do...) One more tip for your possession-WR build... DON'T ignore Speed. ( Make sure it's at least 2nd capped then leave it alone if ur a possession receiver- speed receivers take it even further.)
As far as the other question in the post- (is one handed catch really worth getting to +3 with adv equip?) Yes. Look at the SP's u save in the long run(with high one-hand catch). ( if ur a possession receiver that is, speedsters would be better off looking for Juke IMO)

not really neccessary. happens about once or twice in a season and you need to be wayy better than the DB and have an inaccurate QB w/ alot of str

The SA wouldn't be there if it didn't have the opportunity to activate.
I'd rather turn an uncaught ball into a catch and morale boost for the entire offense than raise something like my ability to turn fast when I already have 60+ agility.
How about you?
I guess if you absolutely must be the fastest, most agile guy on the field, do what everybody else does (including every CB, S and most LBs) and raise speed and cut oriented specials regardless of the tendency to raise those stats the highest. I'm sure that you'll magically end up as the guy with just enough speed to get open every time despite everyone having similar goals...
Me, I like SAs like One Handed Catch simply because it assumes you're not the fastest, but you can do miraculous things from time to time - that's what an SA is for anyway.
Worst case scenario - you reduce your drops.
Best case scenario - you reduce your drops. See what I'm getting at?
