I'm slow building a receiving TE with high strength. Since TEs don't get thrown to that much when my TE gets the ball I want him to break tackles and get big gains from YAC. He currently has 62.5 strength and 14 saved SP so I'm wondering if I should put the SP into strength and work on getting it to the 3rd cap (67.97), or just leave his strength at 62.5?

He's on a slow build team so his production right now or next season doesn't really matter. Although he has made some very good but SLOW plays so far!:

Interesting.
You could be onto something here.

What's his speed/agility by the way?

Only 23/15 (without equipment) since I'm slow building him. Speed will eventually be 2nd capped and agility will be soft capped.

I'd 3rd cap it and forget about it.
Unless you're like me and you work on other attributes for a while before realizing "Hey, should have 4th capped that shit way back when!"

Don't expect your TE to do these kinds of plays often at higher levels.

+% break tackle advanced eq would probably help.

You'll need to softcap Carrying as well. That helps with breaking tackles.

You can probably get away with Strength being at 62 for now to boost up other stats.

Since you helped me in my other thread- I thought I could contribute here.

With my "strength" wide receiver- I first got strength to 40, and then got carrying up to 40. I broke a few tackles with the 40 strength but once I got carrying up to 40 he really started breaking tackles. I think carrying might have more of an impact than people think

my TE currently has strength to the 3rd cap. speed currently at 80. he doesnt seem to break tackles at all. he only has 7 broken tackles on the season. i originally had the same idea you had 2 seasons back. i planned to make my guy all str with high lower the shoulder SA's to bull my way around after the catch. it never seemed to work that way. at one time i had my equipment all in str. even with 90+ strength i didnt really have any broken tackles. it worked wonders for pancakes though. im currently trying to go the speed agility route with my TE since that is what seems to work the best for my player.

The difference between the 2 is that CBs don't pump strength...

What's your agility? I've been told by one well-respected build guy (most of you would know his name, but he told me in private and he'll remain nameless) that "strength" is just HALF of the broken-tackles equation--that the player will break the tackle but fall down if he doesn't have sufficient agility (and thus the "broken" tackle isn't broken at all).

How high is your Carrying? That, along with Strength, is what breaks tackles.

yep, like I mentioned before- I noticed a big increase in broken tackles with my WR when I brought carrying up to the same level as strength.
