Looking for advice on how to handle stamina w/ a slow build strategy.

I am currently planing on slow building 2 players: a HB and a DT.

I plan to stay in the D Leagues for as long as possible and have no interest in sacrificing long term build strength for D League stats.

When, and how should I go about getting my stamina to an appropriate level? Also, am I going to be killing my leveling speed if I do not train/put SPs in stamina?

I plan to train my main (intense) until I have enough points to softcap. This will leave my stamina at very low levels....

How do you all handle this?

It depends on the team you are on. If there is competition for plays, you will need more stamina. If you are the second strongest DT on a team with only three DT's then you won't need stamina because the other two players will be covering the NT position.

It would be nice to train one attribute at a time to take advantage of the slow-build, but you may need intense train a combination of stamina and another skill while you are pumping your first skill. You might even need to throw 5 or 10 points into stamina right away to insure you get enough plays if there is a lot of competition.

Put all your equipment in Stamina up to lvl 24. With this you will be able to play enough plays to level at the correct rate. Aim to have stamina at a good level at 24 only, and don't bother to waste SP into it when you are young.

When you are at 24 your build should be good enough for a team to offer you loads of money to sign, and with that re-distribute your equipment into more suitable attributes, and your stamina would then be high enough not to need it anyway.

You can also put custom equipment towards it for the first 24 lvls if you can afford to burn the flex points.

I train either speed/stamina or agility/stamina on intense. then when I cap speed switch to agility and stamina on intense. then cap agility and by the time you're ready to move on stamina should be about 25.

For my DT, I trained str/agi first, capped both, switched to spd/sta & spd/tck, used eq for stamina, capped speed, returned to str & agi for SPs and sta/cnf for training.

Think Under & Daren have highlighted a change in Training Stamina under the 'new' Intense combos.
Before you could Train all good stuff, then Stamina last ,if you were on a slow build team.
Now though you gotta think of those limited combos. If you get the other half of a stamina combo to cap first,in another combo, then that rules out using it later in the stamina combo ie if you get speed capped first using Speed/Agility, then its inefficient to use Speed /Stamina later cos you're training something over cap.

All of my slowbuilds do stamina last. Find a pair with it that you also don't mind doing with it, such as speed for an o-line, confidence for.. a lot of positions, even some jumping like a DE or DT who you play to use diving tackle with.

I never touch stamina until a join a team. It doesn't effect too much how many plays you get in D-leagues.

I am averaging 65 and 75 plays per game in the D-leagues with only 15 stamina. The key is to find a team that doesn't have anybody to play your position.
