Here is the issue.

I have the formation set to 3-4, Cover 1, Man to Man, Use Basic, Balanced, Strong Shift, 3 Blitzers, CB2 100%, LOLB 100%, LILB 100%.

If you look you see CB2 blitzes, but the ROLB and RILB blitz rather than the left. Any ideas why? When I test my defensive AI it comes up with the tactics that I thought they should be.

well for one, the LOLB is covering the WR while the CB2 blitzes....not an answer obviously, but it leads to the question, why does the LOLB cover that WR and not say the ROLB.

Since you are in Cover 1, I assume the SS is holding back to cover the HB/FB should they come out of the backfied so the RILB has to pick up the TE....

Is your AI set to always follow?

Not sure I have an answer, but if your AI is not set to always be followed then I could better understand why not everyone did what you wanted.

Our AI is not set to always follow. I was under the impression that setting was for the offensive AI and not the defensive AI. Our defensive AI is much more advanced and we don't want the offensive AI to follow exactly. If that is the case I might as well flush the defense down the toilet. I do have it enabled though.

I was thinking that the SS would cover the WR and the RILB and ROLB would have TE and backs respectively. Perhaps I should try cover 0 and see if that produces better results.

If I don't zero out all of the other options, will the computer still pick them at times? It seems counter intuitive to HAVE to put zeros if you don't want them to blitz, but I tried it and it seemed to work.

Am I correct in that assumption?

If you dont have a 0 in the ROLB and RILB spot and have your blitz setting is anything except 0% then there is a chance other players will blitz depending on how many people you have specified to blitz on that play... I hope that makes sense.

It was the conclusion I was beginning to come to. I'll try it and see what happens. Seems like lots of unnecessary work.

So if you put LOLB blitz 100%, but dont put 0 everywhere else, then the LOLB might not blitz sometimes??

if you have the basic tactic blitz set anywhere except 0 and at least 1 max blitzer, yes.

been wondering about this. i think that is what i been seeing watching my replays. does sucks that you have to put a 0 on every output for every play with blitzing in it.
