The order is just taken from the conference standings and are only my opinions. Oh, and this took way longer than I anticipated, so I appreciate the guys who do this kind of thing on a regular basis a lot more more now.
Western Conference
Playoffs: Locked
1 Fresno Fire 8-0-0 W8
First of two teams to lock up a playoff spot in the league, streaking to 8-0. They handled the Reno Marauders as expected, but struggled against San Jose. It looks like they should coast from here to 16-0, but they have shown they have cracks that can be exploited. The question is, who can do it?
Playoffs: Comfortably in the Grasp
2 Reno Marauders 7-1-0 W5
They're doing better than expected. They gave some tough competition a run for the money in scrimmages and upset favored San Jose.
3 Kansas City Royal Chiefs 6-2-0 W3
No surprises, they are beating who they should be and losing to who they should be. Two more comfortable games, then a rough 5 game stretch that will define a 1st round home playoff game or not. They've got some work to do if they want that playoff cash cow.
4 Jacktown Smackdown 6-2-0 W6
They are better than their record shows, make no mistake about it. They started out rough losing a couple of hard fought scraps, but have turned things around and are now winning them. They're learning the competition competently enough to make it work. Sooner or later, the "Ah hah!" light of brilliance will go off and I don't want to be around when it does.
5 Los Angeles Arsenal CPU 6-2-0 W1
Sigh. Please, just please tell me this team won't make the playoffs. They're upsetting teams they have no business beating and the teams in the second half of the schedule don't realize it, but it's them vs. Bort since the CPUs use Bort's default game plans. Sadly though, I think they'll crack into the playoff bracket.
Playoffs: Needing a Little work
6 Fort Wayne Talons 5-3-0 L2
They're in trouble since they've yet to beat a team that they are evenly matched up against, but all three losses are by a total of 16 points, so they've got the potential to make it happen. They'll have to beat at least one of three teams teams to validate any playoff birth: Fresno , San Jose, or Miramar.
7 San Jose Chupacabra 5-3-0 W1
They came out strong, making solid statements. Then they hit a brick wall, losing 3 straight, 2 they were favored in and 1 in an even match up. The rough part of the season is over for them and they got hit hard. Now they've got time to make adjustments and learn from their mistakes and that test will be against Fort Wayne.
Playoffs: On the Bubble
8 Miramar Leathernecks 5-3-0 W4
Again, another team that stumbled out of the gate and appear to have righted the ship, but will it be enough? They've still got the hard part of the schedule coming up and they'll need to beat ate least one team from among San Jose, Kansas City, San Francisco, Fort Wayne, or Jacktown if they want to ensure a playoff spot. If they don't, they could just barely miss the playoffs.
9 San Francisco Stonecutters 5-3-0 W2
Wow, it's feast or famine with the Stonecutters. They've got a hard schedule to close out against Kansas City, Miramar, Jacktown, Reno, and Fresno. They'll have to beat or upset one of them to help ensure a playoff spot because if they don't they'll be rolling the dice.
Playoffs: Trouble Looming
10 Texas Raptors 4-4-0 L3
If Texas doesn't get into a major recruiting campaign quick, they can kiss the playoffs good bye. Recruiting is hard as it is and it's even harder in the middle of the season, but they've got to work on, even hire somebody if they have any hope for the playoffs.
Playoffs: The Fat Lady is Warming Up
11 Pensacola Wolfpac 2-6-0 L1
Playoffs: Late For the Party
As personal recommendation for all fo these teams, sign all level 1 cpu players to replace the high level cpu players. Nearly all cpu players play like crap, so why pay them a lot of money to play like crap? The financial savings can be used in FA or in the stadium.
12 Colorado Springs Flyers 1-7-0 L1
They're making progress, have plenty of cash, but still need to start bringing talent in by working on a solid recruiting campaign for the off season.
13 Titletown Testy Tadpoles 1-7-0 L5
They did the right thing and dumped the cpu players for real people, but there's a lot of level discrepancy that needs to get fixed by evenly distributing plays. I doubt that they had any delusions about winning this season, but they're some things right at least.
14 Brooklyn Bloodbath 1-7-0 L2
Brooklyn, see my notes for Colorado, the same applies to you.
15 Arkansas Rebels 0-8-0 L8
Almost all of the cpus are gone, but they need to focus on the stadium instead of signing L20+ players.
16 Cleveland Elves 0-8-0 L8
Clearly a brand new slow build team. Give them 3 seasons and they'll be steam rolling through here.
Eastern Conference
Playoffs: Locked
1 American Freedom 8-0-0 W8
First of two teams to lock up a playoff spot in the league, streaking to 8-0. They were or are favored in every game on the schedule and it looks like they're fine tuning themselves by playing scrimmages against clearly better competition, taking on teams in EE Pro, USA Pro, Canada Pro, upsetting one team. They did have two tough teams for scrimmages from the West in San Jose and Reno and scraped by in both. From that to upsetting a Canada Pro team, it appears they're clearly targeting the BBB 1 title and season 7. Could Bortsville and Richmond upset them? Only time will tell.
Playoffs: Comfortably in the Grasp
2 Syracuse Souls 7-1-0 L1
Undefeated no more at the hands of Freedom and they struggled, but did force Freedom into mistakes. The loss was closer than the scoreboard indicates. They've got some tough games ahead and film from the Freedom game should help them fix a few errors to try and close out the season strong.
3 Bortsville Mystery Nerf 7-1-0 W2
So far, they've benefited from an easy schedule and are 1-1 in games they actually had to focus on and barely made it past Tri-Cities. Closing out the season won't be the 100+ wins they've come accustomed to so far. They're going to need to earn that home playoff game because there's no doubt, they've got some tough games ahead, namely against the Freedom, Richmond, and the Zoners.
4 Richmond Retros 7-1-0 W7
Home playoff games will be decided against upcoming Tri-Cities, Syracuse, and closing out the season against Freedom. They should be able to do it and they've got the right plan of action, just a few tweaks here and there.
5 Tri-Cities Fever 6-2-0 W3
They are better than their record indicates and how the in the hell they lost to Bortsville is an absolute mystery. That game needs to be studied by the top tier of this conference to avoid another upset. They've got two tough games coming up with Richmond and the Zoners, coasting for 5 games, then needing to pay attention again against Syrcuse to close out the season.
6 Colonial Zoners 6-2-0 W2
They can't make many more mistakes if they want a home playoff game and they'll need to upset either Tri-Cities, Syracuse, or Bortsville to make it happen. Come out of that 1-2 in they're in good shape, if not it's going to be rough.
Playoffs: On the Bubble
7 Baltimore Blood Ravens 5-3-0 L2
What the hell happened? They came out fighting hard and winning, made a statement against Freedom by refusing to give up, upsetting B.C., then fell flat on thier face against the Richmond and the Zoners. They need to find the magic they had in the beginning of the season because it's only going to get harder as the season closes out.
8 Cleveland Firebirds 5-3-0 W1
Win, lose, win, lose, win, lose. They must feel like like they're on a frigg'n roller coaster and the ride is only going to get rougher because it doesn't favor them much at all. They really need to find something that works and find it quick.
9 B.C. Assassins 4-4-0 W2
The up and down streaks are going to continue, the only question is can they win the right games?
Playoffs: Trouble Looming
10 Chicago LMG Accountabillibuddies 3-5-0 W1
I have to give to them, they won't give up and keep trying on the field. We know that management has lost some interest, the team can still be salvaged for season 7 if they want it bad enough. This season though, their back is up against the wall and 1 or 2 losses will all but roll them out of the playoffs.
Playoffs: The Fat Lady is Warming Up
11 New Berlin Blitzkrieg 3-5-0 L2
The rest of the season isn't going to be pretty by any means, but they are gearing up just fine for season 7.
Playoffs: Late For the Party
As personal recommendation for all fo these teams, sign all level 1 cpu players to replace the high level cpu players. Nearly all cpu players play like crap, so why pay them a lot of money to play like crap? The financial savings can be used in FA or in the stadium.
12 Detroit Pyromaniacs 2-6-0 L4
Maybe in season 8 guys. Keep at it though because I want to see that cool logo in the higher leagues.
13 Charlotte Gamebreakers 1-7-0 L1
Not all is lost, you still have a chance to win couple.
14 New York's Finest 1-7-0 L5
Keep at it guys, eventually you'll be able to flash the badge and let the league know that there's a new sheriff in town.
15 New York Grizzlys CPU 1-7-0 L5
They'll be starting completely over, again in season 7, so this team is likely going to be a patsy for another 3-4 seasons.
16 Columbus Spartans 0-8-0 L28
Clearly they are still slow building, they'll be contending hard in season 8.
