so we just lost, horribly. we couldn't seem to complete a pass. The other team deflected 12 of our passes. Anyone know what this is a factor of? WR - to low agility, jumping, vision? QB lacking in something?

If your WR don't get open, they they need to have higher jumping than the CB to beat them to the ball and similar carrying to the CB's strength to keep from dropping it while they hit you.

First thing I can see is that your WR corps are all in their 20's in level, and the opposing team's CB's are all lvl 30-39. Coverage is going to be brutal in that situation.

Next thing I see is that a large chunk of your WR2 depth chart slot is TE's, not WR's. There is an out of position penalty there. They may be a little higher level, but they're not performing up to their level due to the penalty.

1st PD: lvl 29 WR covered by lvl 39 CB

2nd: lvl 27 WR, deflected by lvl 33 FS

3rd: same as 2nd:

4th: lvl 27 WR covered by lvl 35 CB:

5th: lvl 39 TE, deflected by lvl 25 FS - this could be a lucky play, or a result of bad morale due to incompletions/INT's/etc for the QB/receiving corps by this point in the game. The fact that the next play is just a drop/incomplete leads me to believe the latter:

6th: 29 WR, 39 CB

7th: 29 WR, 39 CB

8th: 29 WR, 39 CB

9th: 29 Wr, 39 CB

10th: lvl 24 WR, 39 CB

I probably missed a couple in there, not intentionally omitting - just doing a quick first-pass assessment.

Looks to me like their CB's and safeties just plain outmatched you all around. I don't think there was much chance at all of your team getting a passing game going in that matchup.

Looks like you guys tried to force a bunch of passes to a WR favorite target when he was covered by a lvl 39 most of the game. That's either very clever game planning on the opposition's part, or very bad planning on yours.

Most likely a mixture of both.

You'd have to have some ridiculously good builds and gameplanning to throw at DB's that outlevel you by 8-10 and be successful. A 40-50 SP advantage is tough to overcome.

Add to that the pressure by the lvl 39 DE and your QB is rushing to get rid of the ball.
