Whats worth more 5 throwing or 5% pass quality?

I would have to assume it makes all your passes a little bit better. The game definitely has degrees of success or failure, not just a simple "A pass will either be high quality and dead on target or low quality and way off target" system like your "60 passes over 2 games" example would seem to use, obviously passes can be somewhere in between those two extremes. I imagine that a pass that might normally be 3 feet off target and thus deflected by a DB might only be 2 feet off target and caught once the sim factors in the pass quality bonus. Obviously your equipment is only one part in of the equation when determining the final pass quality. QB stats and SAs, being hurried, throwing on the run, energy/morale, intensity of play etc also impact the results.

It would also seem this is very similar if not identical to the effect of tight spiral. If that is the case the question then becomes how does +4% pass quality compare to +1 Tight Spiral since percentage equipment goes up 2% every upgrade and SA equipment goes up one point every other upgrade. Knowing the answer to that would help people say for sure which kind of equipment is the best to buy.

As for your question about +5 throwing vs +5% pass quality I would imagine they are pretty similar. If you have both pieces of equipment and are trying to decide which to use next game then I couldn't tell you which one is more beneficial. However I can say that 5% advanced equipment will for sure end up better than normal +throwing equipment without any extra bonuses after a couple of upgrades, especially if you put +throwing on it each time you upgrade it. So if you haven't done so I would buy it unless you are holding out for something you think will be even better. I bought a piece that was +5% pass quality and is now +3 Throwing and +11% pass quality. At the end of this post season it will be +4 and +13%. The alternative would be just plain +6 throwing when I hit level 40. I'll trade 2 points of throwing for a 13% bonus to pass quality any day.

I understand that given time, You are better off with special gear, The choice i have right now is +5 throwing or +2 throwing +10% PQ.

You pretty much answered my question.

Pass quality appears to be Linked to the much beloved Tight Spiral.... IE It helps correct Droped passes and Helps reduce Interceptions.

Thanks for the reply !!!!

Drop passes is not QB's fault. It's the WR's fault

And your proof? How do you *KNOW* a slightly off target pass that makes the WR have to jump or dive or leave himself exposed to a big hit by a defender and thus can't quite hold on to the ball would not have been caught if the ball had been more accurate? You can blame the WR all you want and say that it is his job to catch 100% of the passes that he can get a hand on but why can't he blame the QB for making it difficult with a badly thrown pass?

I would personally go with the latter and here is why. The second piece will eventually give you the same amount of throwing as a normal piece of equipment plus at a start of 7% pass quality you will get to a pretty high percentage through upgrades.
