YPC isn't everything

Yes it is

How you fit into your team's system is more important. I don't get alot of ypc because I'm used in short yardage plays (goal line, 3rd and 3s and so forth) I don't have the opportunity to get more than 4 yds or so per play.

But this is the first year that you're playing on that team..

What was your excuse for the rest of your career?

Get a fucking life, you piece of shit troll.

Has anyone had any luck running an elusive back on "power" before?

I've got a guy leading my conference in rush yards, and close to the top in TDs, and to boot, we've got 2 guys splitting carries (the other guy is also close to the top of the stats.) Two things:

1) the reason I'm on here is I'm still learning/figuring stuff out too... so anybody that tells you they have it all figured out is wrong. Nobody needs to get personal about this stuff, and

2) My guy has a combo build and the other guy has played with combo, pure speed, and pure power, using different equipment. We also have a killer offensive line. Results: The delta between the two is lower when the other guy goes to pure speed or combo. I have had best results so far going combo.

3) I use to run with very high agility and high strength, but I have tamped down the strength and gone with strength/speed/agility/vision all being within a 7:5 ratio of each other. But min/max builds may work fine as well.

My observation matches what others here are saying... it's all about getting that O-line built to kill... after that, you'll really be arguing the difference b/w 200 and 250 yards in a game, except against the better teams in your league (the real test.) The point of everything we do is to be able to sustain drives when we end up going against the monster defenses in our conference. It's not about running up the stats against the pussies and the middle-of-the-pack teams for us, it's about being able to eek out that win against the better teams, and the back getting a "normal good" game like 100 yards and a TD. Otherwise they have to be effective enough to keep the offense on the field and the defense off it.
