would you say blocking skill on HB can come in handy for some teams who want an all around back or is it mostly a waste of points in GLB?

as an OC if you can train it up to 20 or 25 along with enough vision to see the blitz, yea it would be nice.

don't even bother, if you really need one you can put a FB or TE or OT at the HB2 slot and set it up like that in the AI.

yeah i guess it's not like real NFL where teams can gameplan and guess if you passing or not based on the personel on the field so being a 3rd down back that is a run threat and can block well for the pass plays doesn't really matter in GLB.
As long as there are settings team managers can put in to have an alternative player blocking like you said I don't mind losing a few plays on the field for the good of the team and that way i can pump more points into other more useful skills.
I might still decide to raise blocking a bit though for those times when i am the HB out there and the defense decides to blitz and we happen to be passing eh wouldn't hurt would it?

Why waste the extra flex points? Go with a FB, you get shock block and other SA's that will help you. And you get blocking increases naturally every level.
However, my power HB is pretty good at blocking, has a few pancakes and was put in for FB a couple times because he was faster than our FB's.

well i do have a FB the idea is to have my HB capable of laying down a decent block when called upon trying to make him more flexible and useful to the team.

Don't do this man. You won't find a team unless you have a good build. Meaning a lot of speed and agility mainly. Most guys want a hb with big time speed and agility, and nothing in blocking.

There are so many running backs in this game, there is no room for a mediocre build with blocking. everyone wants that 3000 yard rusher.

I'd much prefer a more balanced back. I have my guys who are good backs, but I have made both them pretty lethal coming out of the backfield. Make sure you have a fast/strong enough LB when facing me!

Depends on your build. If you're an agility or speed back, you're more valuable running routes during pass plays because usually HBs can get decent gains on passes. If you're pure power, I'd say blocking makes more sense.

yeah i was building him more for a power back and thought if he was also a blocking back that might be a bonus.

Shouldn't need blocking. If a HB is being asked to hold a block for more than a second or two then your offense is probably going to be bad regardless. A power HB's speed/agility/strength should be enough to chip or disrupt any pass rush to give enough time for a QB to pass.

Pro set FB run left, the HB NEEDS to take care of the first LB he sees, if not then the play is dead. If the HB can execute that block, the play is always an easy 3-4 yards +

if you're a power back you should have enough str to block well enough regardless. There is no need for blocking in a h.b. that's all there is to it.
I agree with the agility speed back running routes. so neither build really need blocking. It's a big time waste of s.p's.
