I've known this for a long time. A good lead blocking fullback is the same as a good rushing fullback, minus the SA's.

If that's how you're built... gratz on clogging the hole and slowing down your HB.

I started the thread to say that good speed is needed for a strong fullback. Not to ignore strength to bump up speed.

Sorry man, but every time I see Kayoh post, he spreads misinformation. I just want to prevent him from corrupting some newb, with his often bad, advice.

I'm a big advocate of speed for a FB, just not at the cost of ignoring strength and/or agility. I don't believe it makes more of a consistent impact over those two attributes.

If your HB is significantly faster than you, you're officially as useless as a QB when it comes to blocking.

I don't understand why you believe that (not a flame--just a question). In real life, a FB needs only enough "speed" (maybe agility more than speed?) to take 3 or 4 steps forward and hit the first defender that appears in the hole.

It's the same thing in GLB.

Not on outside running plays, like tosses or sweeps, where the FB is 1 on 1 in open space with the LB, who likely has >70 speed and >60 agility.

Still the same thing as RL, fat-ass lineman can pull and get out in front of the HB. I rarely have trouble blocking on the outside tosses/sweeps with my FB... that's with my 52 speed, 51 agi, 3 quick cuts and 50 vision (I also have almost 90 strength).

You may want to get a HB with decent vision, one who waits for his blocks, before he explodes through the hole/lane.

kayoh you don't even have a fullback...

Also, don't forget teams with strength-build halfbacks who are much slower. My FB Eye Runjoo Over was the lead blocker for 2 seasons on a team with a 3,000 yard rusher and a 2,000 yard rushing backup for each season.

Strength is my main attribute.
