At what point should after game energy become a concern? when it dips below 50?

I'm never worried about that, personally. It isn't that great of an indicator as far as stamina during the game is concerned, just that if you're playing a close game your starters are likely in the game for a lot longer at the end than at the beginning -- hence they're tired.
Don't read too much into it, but if you feel your starters are getting too tired in close games then you can certainly adjust your energy settings to bring the backups in early on.
