1(1) - East St Louis Tire Fires(3-0) - ESL starts a make or break stretch of games with Bangkok, at Manila, vs Phuket and at Bandar. CPU teams suck
Next week - *GAME OF THE WEEK* vs Bangkok Seamen - The last 4 Super Wok's have been represented by either ESL(1-0) or Bangkok(2-1) And now they meet in week 4, with the winner to be 4-0. My guess is that one team wins by 4. Who that is, I have no idea
2(2) - Bangkok Seamen(3-0) - The Seamen hosted the upstart Monsoon, and built a 41-7 lead early in the 4th before the Monsoon added 2 late TD's. This team might be the most talented team in SE Asia Pro, and has a very good shot at knocking the Tire Fires off the top of the mountain. History favors the Seamen, who are 3-1 all time against the Tar Far
Next week - *GAME OF THE WEEK* at East St Louis Tire Fires - This is anyone's game and the winner will have the inside shot at the #1 seed.
3(3) - Manila Hitmen(3-0) - Another push over game, and another blow out. Manila gets one more tune up before they get to see how they've truly improved since season 2/3. Precision Passer has been on a tear this season so far and Manila looks to be playing with the chip on there shoulder I expected them to have this year.
Next week - vs Sumatra Swarm - If the Hitmen don't put up over 200 i'd be astounded
4(4) - Singapore Marauders(3-0) - The Marauders went from the number 2 seed my first season in the Pros, to the 7th seed last year. It was obvious to anyone though that this team was better than that, and they made the necessary adjustments in the offseason. Singapore now holds a huge tiebreaker over Bandar, and should roll through the Whalers and Gamblers before facing the scrappy Jeanhorns and Monsoon.
Next week - at Tokyo Whalers - Marauders in a landslide
5(5) - Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates(2-1) - The Pirates could very well claim the top spot before years end and it is in my opinion they are currently plotting something. Sneaky one eyed bastards.
Next week vs Foxboro Full Blast - Pirates should put up 100-200 points
6(7) - Kamakura Katanas(3-0) - Just can't argue with 3-0 anymore, although I'm still not sure where this team will end up. If they truly are one of the elite teams, they will host Bangkok with only 1 loss tops. If they aren't quiet there yet, I could easily see the Jeanhorns and Monsoon beating them, and possibly the Gamblers.
Next week vs Macau Gamblers - Gonna go with the Katanas.
7(9) - Niagara Jeanhorns(1-2) - This is the Jeanhorns team I remember that got me to become one of there fans. With the season on the line this early, the Jeanhorns dug deep and beat Phuket(and Pattaya this week) to reach 500. This team has really impressed me the past 2 seasons with how they've improved.
Next week vs Pattaya Partisans - Jeanhorns
8(8) - Mekong Monsoon(1-2) - Keep your heads up Mekong, your 2 losses came to the teams that played each other the last two Conference Championships. Queensland went 0-2 to start the season vs the 2 Powerhouses and wound up with a home playoff game. This week, they face a struggling Phuket team they MUST beat followed by the Katanas. In this league, tiebreakers are HUGE, and I expect them to be even more so this season.
Next week vs Phuket All - Mekong is down, but not out. Phuket has been trailing off since last season. This is a huge game for both teams, and would be my game of the week if not for 1 vs 2. Whichever team drops this one, could very well downward spiral for the rest of the season. - Coin Flip
9(6) - Phuket All(1-2) - Last season these guys didn't seem quiet the same, and this season the difference is even more pronounced. This team still has the talent and ability to be one of the best, if not the best teams in the conference, but seems to have lost alot of it's desire. I hope they go the Jeanhorns route and work harder to improve instead of folding it in when the going get's tough like some of the other teams have in the past. While the seasons not over yet, they have Mekong, Bangkok, ESL, the Katanas and Marauders up next.
Next week - at Mekong Monsoon - If they drop this one, don't be surprised if they are 2-7 after they play the Marauders. How much does Phuket All want it? Beginning of last season, this would be Phuket by 2 TDs easily, now it's a coin flip
10(10) - Macau Gamblers(1-2) - A win over the Partisans is a start, but they need to get it going soon. Looking at the remainder of there schedule, I see 4 probable wins, 2 games they have every shot at wining, and that still won't be enough. I think this team could still earn a playoff spot, but needs to put all the pieces together quickly and beat some of the better teams in the league.
Next week vs Kamakura Katanas - Katanas need a break out game, maybe this is it?
11(11) - Chaiyaphum Gothic(0-3) - The Gothic are a solid team that has faced 2 of the top teams, and the newcomer Katanas who are very good as well. They should win there next 3 to get to 500, and need to build from there. This is a team that needs to win the potential tie breaker games and could definitely grab a playoff spot by doing so.
Next week vs Holbrook Roadrunners - Gothic get first win under the belt and justify me keeping them here
12(12) - Holbrook Roadrunners(0-3) - Last week to show me they are realistically still in the playoff hunt
13(13) - Tokyo Whalers(1-2)
14(14) - Foxboro Full Blast - CPU(1-2)
15(15) - Sumatra Swarm(0-3)
16(16) - Pattaya Partisans - CPU(0-3)
