The question I have is how much of a role does carrying play in breaking tackles for a power HB? Does that seem to be mostly strength and SAs, or does carry play a significant role?

Keep in mind that carrying is more then just fumble prevention. It helps break tackles and stuff as well. Its almost the same as Throwing for a QB. Throwing reduces INTs because you through better and more catchable passes. Same thing with carrying. However, like with a QB, you could argue that you also need high vision to prevent picks along with high throwing. If you solely want to prevent fumbling, strength and carrying seem to work hand in hand. Capping carrying at some point is almost mandatory though if you plan on moving to tougher comp some time
I ignored it and I fumbled once in 3 seasons, but I plan to cap it now with the insight I have and see how my results change.
this guys got it.

Carrying should be capped just for the tackle avoidance alone. Fumble prevention is a bonus.

I'm at a loss as to how I can solve this tbh (without compromising his rushing abilities)
This is why I don't believe most know what carrying actually does. The results from capping it just vary way too much. I believe a players speed, his offensive line, and the opponents he faces has much more to do with how many fumbles he generates.

It varies because people put in their anecdotes but you don't see what competition they're playing against. Some people will say they fumble a lot but that's because they're going up against guys with high strength and tackle and with big hit in their arsenal. On the opposite end you have guys say they have no carry and they're playing in leagues with speed LBs that are on wrap-up and couldn't cause a fumble even if they were running full speed. As far as I'd go I'd consider high-training carry until it gets reasonably high then put SP. SP should still be for speed and agility primarily though for speed backs and strength as well for the power.
There's no perfect build so you need to focus on what is most important first. The support skills will naturally need to increase as your level and skill of your competition increases.

Nobody knows for sure, as evidenced by this thread, but it only makes logical sense that a RB should have carry capped at some point in his career, just as a QB should have throwing capped. I haven't focused on it first, but I have it in the mid 40's now and will focus on getting it to the 1st cap, a.s.a.p..

It's tough to read because the formatting won't work.
Season 3, 4 and 5 were against the same competition (USA A7 East) and none of the fumbles were against the teams that moved up/were promoted the previous season.

Yeah...the point was just that as your level increases so will the level of your opponents and it'd be ignorant to not consider improving your carry as your opponents improve. Especially LBs whose primary build is to put into normal skills then when they're basic skills are decent to put into specials. It's just going to be natural if you move season to season to increase fumbles unless you start putting into carry.
