1. Boston Nighthawks (3-0)
Defeated Gridiron Rage 59-17
Ranking: Unchanged (previous: 1)
Boston goes back to their roots to run roughshod over Gridiron. Still the team to beat in the conference.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210277&pbp_id=2860201
After their quarterback was sacked twice on this drive, Boston keeps the offense alive with a long completion to Phantom Menace.

2. Washington Bullets (3-0)
Defeated Cincinnati Shockers 31-14
Ranking: +1 (previous: 3)
The Bullets hold their opponent to 14 points for the third straight contest, but this time it's against a much better opponent. A steady diet of grind-out-the-yards rushing plus an outstanding game by Art Monkey (7 rec, 147 yds, 2 TD) keep the Bullets undefeated and looking solid.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210313&pbp_id=2871377
A 92 yard reception by Art Monkey makes for a short drive indeed.

3. Detroit Demon Lions (3-0)
Defeated Green Bay Maulers 54-21
Ranking: +1 (previous: 4)
Detroit barely passed in this game, but then again they really didn't need to. A couple of fumbles by E.D. Jackson (26 rush, 248 yds, 3TD) doesn't take away from a superlative effort on the ground by DDL.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210339&pbp_id=2869999
Here's 80 yards of that 248. Jackson breaks a few tackles and takes it to the house.

4. Doomsday Sin (3-0)
Defeated Kalamazoo Coyotes 40-0
Ranking: +1 (previous: 5)
Once upon a time, shutting out K-Zoo would have been a miracle. These days, it’s simply a very good defensive effort by the Sin against a clearly struggling 0-3 team.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210263&pbp_id=2861381
Bradley Nowell brutalizes the Coyotes' kick returner, forcing a fumble which was recovered by Nacho Supreme. The Sin added three points from this turnover.

5. Cincinnati Shockers (2-1)
Lost to Washington Bullets 31-14
Ranking: -3 (previous: 2)
I'm pretty, well, shocked by this one. Washington's rush defense, which was overpowering in their last win against the junior Philadelphia team, shut down Cincinnati too.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210313&pbp_id=2869545
Jacob Orangeblood takes this one in for six - some rare rushing success against Washington.

6. Orlando Pirates (2-1)
Defeated Philadelphia Continentals 41-13
Great pressure by the Orlando defense which sold out on the rush to exert tremendous pressure on the Continentals’ quarterbacks. Philadelphia came into the game plus-7 on turnovers but Orlando gave as good as they got in this one. Orlando's sole loss was to Minnesota, but with the Marauders continuing to look like a stud team in the West, the Pirates are looking better and better in these rankings.
Ranking: +3 (previous: 9)
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210323&pbp_id=2862497
Adewale Ojomo rings up one of his eight sacks in the game.

7. Chicago Mustangs (1-2)
Defeated Camden Outkasts 62-13
Ranking: +3 (previous: 10)
The close loss to DDL looks more and more impressive. Chicago did what they had to do here, exploiting a terrible Camden defense to get their first win of the season. Andrew Vick wasn't perfect, but he looked a hell of a lot better in this game than the last two.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210248&pbp_id=2867730
Lawrence Jackson was trouble for the Camden QB all day, recording six sacks and eight hurries. Here he pressures the quarterback into making a key interception.

8. Philadelphia Pushovers (2-1)
Defeated Rhode Island Red Wolves 23-17
Ranking: -1 (previous: 7)
Yeah, I know. "We won a game and you're dropping us in the rankings??" The problem is, the Red Wolves were in this the entire game and the Pushovers needed to show a better effort if anyone is going to take them seriously this season.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210290&pbp_id=2864808
Philadelphia stops the Red Wolves on fourth down with less than two minutes to go in the game with Rhode Island only 35 yards away from the endzone and down by 6.

9. Green Bay Maulers (1-2)
Lost to Detroit Demon Lions 54-21
Ranking: -3 (previous: 6)
If Green Bay could have stayed with their game plan and continued to rush against DDL, I suspect this game would have been a lot closer. QB Matt Anderson hurt more than helped as he aired it out later in the game to try to bring Green Bay back into it.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210339&pbp_id=2869468
RB Clint Grant had some nice rushes against Detroit, including this one for 15 yards up the middle.

10. Gridiron Rage (1-2)
Lost to Boston Nighthawks 59-17
Ranking: Unchanged (previous: 10)
Rage QB Peter Gallo had a pretty good day, especially considering his opponent. A couple of untimely turnovers by Gridiron near their own end zone made this score look like more of a blowout than it was.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210277&pbp_id=2859745
Good pickup of the blitz by the Gridiron O-line results in Mad Maxx going mano-e-mano against Boston CB Jon Snow. Maxx obviously wins this round.

11. Rhode Island Red Wolves (1-2)
Lost to Philadelphia Pushovers 23-17
The fairly tight win over Kalamazoo is starting to look less impressive.
Ranking: -3 (previous: 8)
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210290&pbp_id=2859178
Rhode Island QB Ricky Ross, having been sacked in the previous down, recovers nicely by throwing this long TD gem to TE Corpulent Pigleg.

12. Kentucky Madcats (1-2)
Defeated D.C. Warpath 42-31
Ranking: +4 (previous: 16)
Nice rebound game for the Madcats. They didn't show dominance over the Warpath - the stat lines looked fairly similar - but they made plays when they had to and made the Warpath-Daggers game look even more fortuitous for D.C's chances to remain in the league for Season 7. Up you go, Kentucky.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210302&pbp_id=2863491
This was starting to look like a touchdown for D.C. until Terrell Louis and Chase Yeager turned the Madcats' frown upside down.

13. D.C. Warpath (1-2)
Lost to Kentucky Madcats 42-31
Ranking: Unchanged (previous: 13)
Sammy Baugh had a decent game against Kentucky (27/40 for 284 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INT) but D.C. needed to take control in the fourth quarter and simply didn't. A solid case could be made to drop them below the Continentals because of the comparative games versus Orlando, but for now I’ll keep D.C. here based on their record.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210302&pbp_id=2860645
A nicely placed deep pass by Baugh gives the Warpath six points on the board.

14. Philadelphia Continentals (0-3)
Lost to Orlando Pirates 41-13
Ranking: Unchanged (previous: 14)
The rushing game looked quite improved, but that statistic was partially masked by the Philadelphia quarterbacks being sacked a whopping thirteen times. They have played some tough teams tough and there’s good reason to believe they’ll rise up the rankings based on the high quality of opponents they’ve played, but they have to consider next week’s game against Kentucky a must-win.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210323&pbp_id=2861946
Continentals WR Hugh Wynn mows over the defending CB and then sidesteps the safety to score from 41 yards out.

15. Kalamazoo Coyotes (0-3)
Lost to Doomsday Sin 40-0
Ranking: -3 (previous: 12)
It appears to be Kalamazoo in name only. Ron Dash was harried all day and completed only 7 out of 26 passes. However, DE Goliath Jones had a fine day, netting five sacks.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210263&pbp_id=2860219
The second of two sacks on consecutive plays by Mr. Jones. Any team which can exert pressure like this has hope for the future.

16. Camden Outkasts (0-3)
Lost to Chicago Mustangs 62-13
Ranking: -1 (previous: 15)
Like the Continentals, the Outkasts were sacked 13 times and picked off twice. Unlike the Continentals, Camden had negative rushing yards and never even forced their opponent to punt. Camden already looks to be a lock for relegation.
Highlight play: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210248&pbp_id=2866296
On the first play of the game, Camden recovers a fumble by Chicago's J.D. Jackson and gets great field position at Chicago's 32.

Happy to see Kentucky get some respect... We were down a CB today, but he'll be in there vs. the Continentals...

We'll have to pull some shockers to get into the playoffs, but at least we are on the right track.
