I'm sure this has been brought up before but I was just wondering. How fast does your FB have to be in relation to the HB in order for him to get out and lead block? And how much does agility and vision figure in??

There's no real magic number for speed, because there's some variables that change things. My HB has 78 or so speed and I only have 48 speed, I'm still able to lead block effectively. I think that individual tactics are partially why and maybe because I have ~52 agility as well.
I think a HB with more agility (or more of an even spd/agi) is harder to lead block for, because he reaches top speed faster. Which means that you also have to reach top speed pretty quick to reach the block before he does.
Another factor is the level of competition, if the FB is constantly picking up blocks near the line of scrimmage, spd/agi are not quite so important. I notice a lot more LBs attacking the lane, so it actually helps me get to the block sooner.
Vision is still not optimal, so you can do fine with it anywhere between 30 and soft cap IMHO.
Anyways, just some things to consider.

I agree with Warlock. Our HB has 80 speed and 60 agility there bouts. I find my FB with 55 speed 55 agility is fast enough to block for him, barely. I would say just make sure to keep your agility at least even. It is more important for us imo.

I generally like to think that an HB should have high Speed and moderate Agility, and then the FB should have high AGI and moderate Speed. That way the FB immediately accelerates to lead the HB, and gives the HB the time that he needs to accelerate to his max speed, at which point he blows past the FB, who is obviously blocking somebody.
