Just something I'm trying with a TE.

I realised that LBs usually go speed, agility, vision etc. With jumping and catching pretty far down the list.

So rather try and out spd/agi them, I'm trying to focus on catching/jumping first on the theory that even if they are close by I'll beat them in traffic more often than not. Player's still in D-leagues with nothing softcapped atm so no real news. Just wondered if anyone else had tried something similar and got good results.

I'm going for a strength-catching TE. Let me know how it turns out.

I have gone this route too actually. I also read that a QB will go to the highest catch rating guy if nobody is clearly open. Along with jumping and a high catch number this build should be great for check downs. That is if that catch thing is true.

I don't think that is true. At least based on what I've seen it does not happen that way.

Yeah...I tried putting all equip on catch so that my guy was 2nd on team in catch. My QB still refuses to throw to me so catch isn't really used for that. However, catch is really good for getting those same dot balls so in that respect that should help you.

I'm not an OC, but my understanding is that they set a percentage that dictates how often a QB throws to a TE, maybe your OC has it set really low? If you look at Bravaro, Novickek (sp?), and Cooley, pass catching TE's are obviously a large part of football. I'd pm your OC, he should be a factor.

TEs have been getting less passes this season.

More people using cover 1 and cover 0. Hard to get the ball when you're constantly double covered.

Jumping is useful for a TE, Catching is not. I had 70+ Catching on my TE, but I haven't seen any difference with that between 50+ Catching.

Waste of SP/equipment to take Catching beyond 1st softcap.

This has been my experience as well. I've noticed the biggest improvement with speed, agility, jumping and vision.

Strength helps too, but only if its high enough. Carrying as well. Breaking tackles and whatnot.

I have 50.29 catching and 35.77 jumping. Im having my worst 2 receiving years. My QB (over 7k passing yards last season) tried setting me to his favorite target and it still didn't work.
