Season 5 was also when power backs got nerfed, and by nature, a rushing FB is a power back. I stand my my statement early on, a half back will be better than you, assuming equal levels and a decent build. A fullback can capably carry the ball in short yardarge situations or as a backup, but a fullback should never be the primary ball carrier. The lack of speed at level ups will kill you, and if you try to run from the FB position, no blocking.

My guy sees his fair share of carries for short yardage. We use a elusive back for toss plays and screens. We have a featured back that has some power, but good speed/agility to handle inside and off tackle running. Then we use my FB for short yardage situations mostly. Guess 3 HBs might be better, but having a power FB insures everyone gets their playing time in as well.

I think a rushing FB makes a pretty good reserve back, but won't be as good as a dedicated HB.
Depending on his build he could probably play HB3, FB2, TE2/3, ST, and maybe even WR5.

i like the discussion.
i know that in 99% fbs are often only used as a additional blocker (a runblocker for the hb).
this is that, what the defence expect. in many cases the defence doesn't expect a fb running like hell
i tried an other way (and my team-owner and coaches goes the way with me) and build a fb also as runner. and i guess we have a decent success.

i think its a advantage for the offence, if you have more abilities. there are a lot of "blockers" in a o-team: c, g, ot, te, fb, also hbs. but few guys which are able to make tds: hb, wr and te AND fb (if you let the fb run).
lets give the offence more guys to make the d-fence troubles.
