How important is confidence for a free safety and what exactly does it effect?

I haven't figured this out either. I have a good amount of confidence for my safety, but I really don't think it does anything. Maybe it helps a player get over a missed tackle or a dropped INT. But that shouldn't happen much for a FS

I was just curious, because my level 30 safety has very low confidence. I've never really heard if it is that important for the position.

Well if you think about what a FS does, he's the deep coverage utility man. He's the last line of defense between the offense and the goal line. His job is to make sure nobody gets past him. Confidence might be a factor if that FB or HB breaks through and is running full blast at him. It also might be the factor in determining whether he will go for that interception, or just bat it down. Its probably important, but not THAT important.

I think it's very underrated. I've seen great success from training my confidence from 20 to 30.
