My team is going to bomb hard this year anyways so my question is should I softcap agility first or just go straight for the second softcap on strength?

Edit:
I felt I should also mention that I am the power running game for my team and will be seeing quite a few carries (~33% of run plays will be my FBs). In addition, I am being utilized for screen passes but I'm not really going to concern myself with building in that direction anytime soon.

it's a trade off...i'd rather softcap agility, but it is good for training due to combinations like spd/agi or blk/agi. tough call, because there aren't good training options for blocking and i like to get it softcapped as a fb. of course i prefer to block than to run.

This guy isn't really meant for blocking though. Not to say I don't care about blocking at all but he's an "Alstott" build as Warlock put it in another thread.

You'll still want decent blocking (35+ maybe) unless he's going to be playing purely as HB/Returner or some such. If you get 33% of the runs then you'll be blocking on at least 33% as well (Factoring in pitches, singleback formations etc) so don't neglect it, even though it can wait a couple of levels.

Anyway as for what to do next; Strength, Agility, Blocking and Carrying get +0.5 per level up until lvl 22. So the most economical thing is to soft cap one of those next. Which one is up to you, but I do agree with Run DMC above that Agility is the attribute that would benefit you the most (Helps blocking, rushing and receiving) but that it also has some nice training combinations that you now won't benefit as much from.

If I have to choose then go for Agility to 48 while training... say, Speed/Stamina. Or maybe Carrying/Confidence. No real outstanding training combo there really. Vision/Confidence another option I guess, but doesn't boost any of the attributes you want softcapped straight away.

I'm slow building him this season (and probably next) so no worries about wasting SPs in the near future.

If you want to get the biggest benefit of a rushing FB, you have to have the ability to block... one of the major selling points (over a power HB) is the ability to also take the role of the #2 FB. Another big selling point is having you in on pass plays to block (for max protect, a team can go with a two back set and toss the #1 FB in as well).

This doesn't mean that you have to be a huge blocking monster, but you should have some blocking ability.
