I'm just saying that if I had to quit this game and no one on my team wanted to take over, I wouldn't mind someone new taking it over and starting over. When they succeeded, I'd be proud that the name lives on.

Oh definitely, if Flames had specifically chosen who he wanted to sell the team to. In that case you're also essentially selling permission to use the name though. If Jerry Jones went broke tomorrow, then the NFL auctioned off the Cowboys to the highest bidder who subsequently fired all the coaches and players and then moved to LA and built a new stadium, would they still be the Cowboys?

Good chance they would still be the Cowboys. Some teams change their names, and some don't. Consider the Cleveland Browns, they had the "Browns" move but then a brand new expansion team came in a few years later and they got to be the Browns.

So, if he keeps it the Aces, who cares. He took over a gutted team and has done an exceptional job restocking it. If the name helped, well hey, that's the way it works.
