So I have a Power HB who has been doing extremely well for the past 4 seasons, but in the scrimmage game we just played, every time he got the ball he would plow straight ahead, not following the FB lead blocking, or he would cut back away from the direction the play was going, despite there being a fairly large hole if he followed the play.

Has anyone else seen this?

EDIT: Here are some examples.

I've seen this from HB with high vision too so I think it may be the play design.

No Vision, Retard strength. A powerback is pretty much just a blind man on steroids lol. They go through you instead of around you.

If you are running on power he will not try to avoid tackles. Its not a vision thing. Hes trying to run through the tackle instead of avoid it.

With that being said you still need confidence so you can train confidence/vision at the same time on intense.

carrying + confidence is an option though.

That's the thing, I've been working on my Confidence/Vision for a while. Is 35 Vision and 33 Confidence still too low?

It could be the play design, but that brings up two questions for me. 1- Are there plays that are designed cutbacks? and 2- If the play was designed to go straight up the middle, how come a hole opened up between the Guard and the Tackle, with the FB lead blocking into the hole?

It's probably my fault somewhere, I'm just trying to clarify what I did wrong so I can stop doing it. By the way, I don't think I've reached retard strength yet.
