Does catching help a HB handle the pitch from the QB better so he can get out of the backfield quicker? My HB seems like he juggles the pitch a bit before taking off.

Maybe it does but what you are looking for is first step, agility, and speed. Perhaps also quick cut since you are running at an angle

My HB actually missed a pitch once, although he did recover pretty well...

In reply to Skel, I don't think Quick Cut affects how you handle a pitch as my HB has 10 in Quick Cut.

You are right about the pitch, however getting out of the backfield faster, I think it helps when you make your cuts behind the line of scrimmage. I guess the point I was trying to make is that having a good elusive back will get out of the backfield quicker

anytime the HB has to catch the ball, i would think catching helps...............

Yeah I'd definitely agree with that.
