1] The side the TE lines up on is called the "Strong" side. This is also why the safety is known as the Strong Safety ... his coverage responsibilities include covering this player. The side without the TE becomes the "Weak" side.
2] A shift to the Strong side means your MLB is closer to the TE and your LOLB is on top of the TE is all. Your ROLB really doesn't move all that much. You will not be horribly out of position at all for a run up the middle.
3] Apparently, teams are using the Strong off-I to kill some teams. Lining up on the Strong side or not, its still your DB's responsibility to stop the pass attack.
