I know they're not balancing out, but he is moving gutted teams down and shuffling additional teams up based on record and how far they get in the playoffs.

Yeah I have had further discussions with other people and it appears there is one statement in the original announcement that I missed which means..."Whatever we feel we need to do"

I've got a good guess on how many teams from our league will move up. If I'm seeing this right, I figure 3 teams from each of our conferences will move up.

A#5 West has 2 CPU teams and their last place finisher moving down to BBB. That gives 3 West teams room to move up.

A#5 East has 1 CPU team and their last place finisher moving down to BBB. AA#3 has 1 CPU team moving down to BBB. Leaving room for 3 East teams to move up.

Now this ain't an Exact science. I haven't considered BBB#9 or any other league under AA#3 so don't quote me on this. Thats just what I'm seeing for now.

if they promote me, they promote me but I would much rather earn my spot rather than get it because of gutting/team selling.

This is the issue that will be difficult to define as BBB10 must compete with BBB9 for spots, but this may not be too far away from what happens.

The leagues above A5 also have teams that are CPU, etc. From my understanding, those teams will fall all the way to the BBB leagues regardless of where they are now, which in turn will create more room for teams moving up and also create more vacancies.

I think the BBB leagues will be pretty much gutted/cpu for the most part (or at least half the league will be).

From conversations with A6, it appears that A5 has the edge over A6 in the east and A6 has the edge over A5 in the west. This means that most likely A6 will promote extra west teams while A5 east will promote extra east teams.
