For Punters, does PUNTING = longer punts or does STRENGTH?

For Kickers, does KICKING = longer kickoffs or does STRENGTH?

I'm assumming the answer is both play a role, but do either play a more significant role in the power of kicks?

STR for length and K for accuracy

I've seen 90 punt / 50 strength get 43 yards/punt
and 80 punt / 80 strength get 42 yards/punt

can't tell how many touchbacks for either, though.

The way I see it, kicking is sort of an all-around helper. It helps accuracy and distance. Strength is an add-on to that and helps to up your distance, as well as points in Big Boot. Vision, on the other hand, helps like strength does, but for accuracy, as well as Automatic, and to a lesser extent, Calm Nerves.

To answer your question, though. I would say, at the same level, strength has more of an effect on distance than kicking or punting.

Just my speculation, for what it's worth.

My punter with 87 punting and 20 strength gets 40+ yard punts...lol @ strength

My level 10 punter gets 40+ yard punts too. Your average isn't that high, really, for having 87 punting. I think strength is the #2 for punting. Overrated for kicking though

Octowned and DirtyMouse - very interesting observations. Thank You.

It appears that PUNTING is much more of a significant attribute, even for distance.

I agree, Punting and Kicking rule for distance and accuracy. Only start working on the secondary attributes when it has become too expensive to work on punting/kicking.

Do not trust the averages because of TB. I just put 15 SPs into my ST and spread them out so I have 5 across the board with CE. All I have noticed now is consistency punting the ball about 40 yards. Really hard to tell since I have only played one game. I'll see what happens through the next few games.

I don't think it's too overrated for kicking. I just boosted and raised my strength from about 50 to 57. All of a sudden now he's going from kickoffs that go 55-65 yards to touchbacks half the time.

I think strength is overrated when I see a lot of posts for help and people first capping strength before 4th capping punting/kicking. I do think that strength helps with distance, but in no way should it even come close to punting/kicking for importance.

I think confidence is a lot more important than most people think!

This. 4th cap punting/kicking before even thinking about strength IMO. Actually, I'd put strength behind kicking/punting, vision, and confidence.
