You're right. Of course, you fail to mention two things:

1) Stinks was only thrown to a few times in that game. (Congrats on giving up 14.5 yards per catch)

2) Asafa's line in the game:

CB Asafa Powell 40 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

40 plays of not doing a whole lot of anything. We also only passed the ball 21 times in the game, far lower than normal.

This is what we call a small sample in the analytical world. It's like those baseball announcers who say "So and so has seven hits in 12 at bats against this guy. He owns him!"

Results based analysis using small samples prove nothing.

Uhhh... posting plays where Asafa isn't on the field or his teammates make stops on your WR doesn't exactly prove that Asafa didn't shut down your WRs.

Citing that your QB didn't throw it to the WR frequently when Asafa was covering him to render any catches also hurts your case.

You really are stupid, aren't you? He's posting stats for ONE of my WRs, not all of them. So, simple logic would tell you he's insinuating that he shut down the WR that he listed.

HIS CORNERBACK WASN'T COVERING THE WIDE RECEIVER IN QUESTION.

Further clarification, since some people have an inability to register what they read before they react.

Asafa = Solid cornerback
Stinks = Solid Wide Receiver
Asafa did not cover Stinks in that game.
Therefore, Asafa did not shut down Stinks.
Therefore, the original statement of "S. McGee (WAL) 2 catches, 29 yds against Asafa Powell" is not true.
No offense to Asafa.
No props to Stinks.
No hard feelings at all towards RayRay99 - just flipping crap back atcha.
Admerylous is a dense fool.

Energy substitutions move players and who is covering who around. The 2 WR in question were the #1 WR on the depth chart, and Asafa was the #1 CB, meaning he handled their coverage, at least for a while. That stat line for Asafa is excellent for a CB. It means he wasn't thrown at, which means his WR wasn;t getting the ball. See how that works?

Beginning of the game, Stinks is not even on the field, Asafa is forced to cover someone with enough sack to take the field.

Anyway, I have always given my fellow secondary mates credit. I vote Asafa, Shylan, and Peanut for best CBs.

I stand corrected. I thought I looked and saw him up there earlier. Regardless, whomever Asafa faced should have just stayed in the backfield for pass blocking
