ok well first off is it smart to make my first target a HB or TE, and is it good to favor the dump pass and long bomb???

help would be great,

I hear that it is best to not set any targets. Let the QB find the open WR. Otherwise he might force a pass to a bad situation and get intercepted.

This also depends. I normally have my 1st target set to one of my fast receivers. Also if you have one stud WR you might want to set your target to him. I use check down as a last resort since my WRs are there to spread out the field. I do it sort of like the early 90 Cowboys did with a solid running attack but I still have the speed in my WRs and the strength in my QBs to hit them deep in a route this keeps teams from stacking the box against me. And results in me having some guys with a decent amount of yards.

against a blitz heavy team, dump passes are your friend. against a team that rushes 3 or 4, dump passes aren't as productive as other routes.

Don't set favorites. Just have the setting set to sometimes check down.
